I have been to the stores in the French Riveria and Monaco during May several times and inventory is always depleted. I remember once Cannes only had two fabric bags displayed and available. The low stock may be due to the influx of crowds for the Grand Prix, Film Festival, ect.

I'll be there during the Film Festival/Grand Prix and figured this would be the case. All this means is I will have to return to the Riviera another time. :D

Hello all, bumping - any update on these stores? I will be along the coast in the south of France very soon and, although I am not on a particular bag hunt, would love to know if any of the boutiques in the area are worth a detour! TIA!

MC is my favorite store of all. It's not exactly a detour to get there, but once you are there , even if you don't get anything worthy from the H store, there still are many other nice stores to shop from....with very nice selections....always a bit more sparkling than anywhere else. I am thinking Chanel, Dior, Celine, Lanvin, Valentino, Prada etc... and...Cartier !

I found everything in Nice that I haven't been able to get my hands on in London despite my amazing SAs working so hard for me (and London has 4 stores!). There seemed plenty of bags on the shelves, however, I wasn't after a bag with already 2 on order. Not too busy either, however, it helps if you can speak French (or at least try to at first) and know exactly what your looking for.

Have a great trip.

Thanks, papertiger! I do speak French so this could be an exciting trip shoppingwise :p

Ahhh perlerare I LOVE MC. We shall see if I get there. We haven't decided on Monaco, Cap d'Antibes, or heading somewhere further south than France, which will be warmer!

I was in Nice during August when everyone was in vacation but the nice store had a quite a few exotics constance wallets, lots of enamel bracelets but no Bs or Ks.

In Cannes the older SA (her name I forgot) tried to located a Kelly for me before I even had my Birkin. It was just sold to someone else but I had a good chance and she was super nice and helpful. It depends when you go as well since during the tourist season they have their 'special' priority clients. Good luck and crossing my fingers.

I will be staying next to Verdon lake in July for 2 weeks, so these stores are only a short drive away. Hoping to score a B in Etoupe. Fingers crossed and going to read this thread carefully

Spent about a week and a half in the French Riviera (after Grand Prix and film festival) and visited quite a few of the H stores. Here's my experience:

We stayed in Nice the entire time and just did day trips everywhere. I wasn't very dedicated to getting a bag from Nice since I had just gotten 1 from Paris, but we did visit the store a handful of times throughout our trip. Each time we went, we worked with different SA's because it never seemed to be consistent; we basically never saw the same SA twice. Some SA's were definitely more helpful than others.

However, whenever I asked about bags (didn't ask directly for a B/K/C though), they gave the same response- all their bags are on display. However, there is a sign in the display saying the bags aren't for sale...also when I asked if there's a toolbox in the back, an SA had to ask someone else. Why ask if you say all your bags are out on display? During my time there, I saw 1 couple ask for a B, and the SA immediately said "oh no, no way" and pointed to the display cases for their entire bag stock.

Also, I bought a gift that I wanted to send from Nice to another French city. They do not offer shipping. I was surprised because all the H stores I've ever been to have always been willing to ship things for you. I guess Nice won't because it's a franchise store?

The Cannes boutique was super busy without enough SA's. Oddly had a lot of security guards though. Stock didn't seem great for what we were looking for (belt straps and men's wallets). Staff did seem nice though. The SA who served us was even willing to check the computer for wallet stock in other stores. I was surprised how big the Cannes store is. Nice was the size of a shoebox. Saw a guy ask for a non exotic Constance; SA shot him down right away.

Briefly stopped by the Monaco store. It seems like they probably get the best/most stock because whenever the other stores didn't have what we were looking for, they told us to try Monaco.

Didn't see anyone offered bags anywhere. Not sure if it was because of the timing of the season and all the major events, but none of the stores seemed particularly great for walk ins who want coveted bags.

Has anyone had luck with the Nice store? My mom is heading there in a month and she would like to try for her first B but I am not sure if the store is big enough to give people B's...

Nice wasn't worth it all. I suppose it's because it's a franchise store and it prefers to sell to locals, stock was not great for any leather goods, and SA's were very inconsistent. Every time I went there, I'd see different SA's. Some were helpful, and others seemed indifferent. All the boutiques in the French Riviera suggested Cannes and Monaco whenever they didn't have what we were looking for.

I was in Nice for more than a week after the GP and Film Festival. Not sure if that had a huge impact on stock there or not.
