How does it work in London? In Paris was asked to ‘register’ with my passport, and my friends said once you’re on the system, every purchase counts.

But in London, when I volunteered my passport, they merely took it to do me a VAT refund - the receipt didn’t register my name / address.
Now I’m in an odd situation where I’m not habitually resident (hence claim VAT back), but grew up and have family here, hence visit every year. I was hoping that buying a few things here would get my ball rolling in London, but the SA barely looked me in the eye. Last year and this year, both SAs just handed me the items I wanted and assumed they would never see me again... How do I get around that?

Of the cities I frequent, I would have thought London would be my best bet at building some sort of relationship - Asia being too popular; Paris I visit less often.

Also, I could envisage purchasing say $3-5k of items each trip - my gift lists / wish lists. Would that be sufficient to score a B/K/C?

Thanks all!

if this is your intention, why you dont just tell the SA that you intend to turn london as your home store, they are all very friendly when I visit, so I dont think you would have a problem by letting them know you want to concentrate all your purchases in London and work in a H relationship with a store you choose.

I have to put in a word in defence of NBS staff; they have always been helpful to me even searching the availability in other London Hermes boutiques for items not available in NBS.
I would also say the same for Royal Exchange where they have also sourced items out of the country for me.

I most definitely second PJW5813’s opinion: without exception, I’ve always found the SAs @ NBS to be extremely helpful and pleasant. While I doubt that I can be considered a VIP client (not buying or even seeking B/K), I always get unhurried and friendly attention. Cadogan Pl is usually a quieter place but I find my interactions there to be more “hit & miss”. I only discovered RE recently. The selection of items on sale is really limited but the employees were really outstanding.

I think anywhere in the world, getting the right SA who clicks with you makes a huge difference. At Bond St I have really good SAs who are extremely accommodating now that they know me well and I go in regularly. The store is busier, and it takes a while to establish a relationship but I believe they have the most stock range. I enjoy the pace and vibe but it is definitely not a place to linger all day. For one it wastes my SA's time. Cadogan is now an expanded store and they do have new SAs there. The vibe is much quieter and I can sit, have a drink and chat with my SA without ever buying anything or feeling bad. That's the beauty of it. I do not shop at the other stores as much so I cannot comment.

well these are the prices on H.com (UK) now, i will see if the prices change tomorrow for UK
- just took a screen shot
- not convinced it is a 10% increase for all H items, some will be no doubt, but definitely not everything... which is usually the case in previous years

also if it is a 10% for all handbags and if it is true it will make a bolide more than £5500 (rolled eyes)
