Hermes boutiques in London

Getting one is the problem rather than the price in London. I've been into Sloane Street and Harrods every week for the past 5 weeks and there is just nothing that they are offering. Heard the Manager of one London boutique telling a customer that he only ever sells Bs and Ks to existing and regular customers. Was recently offered a Croc H Jige but didn't feel right dropping £11,500 on a clutch when I've still not managed to score a B or K in my hometown of London !
I was told in Harrods that H have closed their lists currently and are trying to ensure everyone who was on them is being offered a bag. The timeframe the SA suggested for this bcklog being cleared was around 7 months. Constance also not available at all according to their system.

OMG what can i tell you about my quest?!!!

As arranged I was going to Lille first to see if i could score a bag. I was soooo excited and dressed to impress without trying too hard.

I arrived at the Eurostar terminal in London to meet my friend and ready to hit H Lille. I went to call him only to notice that I did not have my phone with me for the first time ever! OMG bad start. On that phone was also my Eurostar tickets and boarding passes - great.

So I collared a security guard who let me use his phone to phone my daughter (I cannot believe I remembered the number) and get her out of bed early doors. She then went and called my friend from my phone to meet me by the coffee shop. This bit happened. Then my daughter emailed the tickets to my friends phone.

As we stood in line to get ready for our train, an announcement came up that there'd been a bomb in Brussels and that the train passes through Lille first and therefore my train was cancelled. So we obviously aborted the trip and went for lunch at the Ivy and popped into H in Bond Street who told me that unless i spend circa £30,000 it is unlikely i would ever get offered a bag there! Never mid I thought I'm off to Paris next week so will try there.

Got home that night and got a call to say my Dad had a heart attack and was in Casualty and I must go quickly. My dad continues to be very sick and remains in hospital for the last ten days. Which obviously means I cancelled my Paris trip and have spent every day by his bedside.

So i have come to the conclusion that i am totally jinxed and will not get a bag but will defy follow up on the TPFer that suggested try after Easter in London and only if my Dad is better.

On that note I am bagless but thank God I still have my Dad. Everything happens for a reason. Had I gone to Lille and stayed overnight as planned, I would not have been nearby when my Dad needed me.:sad:

OMG I'm so sorry to hear that! Sending my thoughts and prayers to you and your family and hoping your dad makes a speedy recovery!

I would suggest H Sloane Street vs Bond Street. I think they are much nicer there, and probably more amenable to helping you get your Birkin without this insane minimum spend!

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, it's lovely and positive that you chose to look on the bright side of things. I am sure his recovery is the uppermost on your mind now and I wish you lots of fairy dust for your bag to find you. Am quite shocked about the £30k spend mentioned, no one has ever mentioned it to me at that store before.

Gosh, I am so sorry to read this; I only came across it today, hence the delay in replying to your post, but I really wanted to express my sympathy, and to applaud your very clear understanding of what's really important :urock:

I arrived hoping to find out whether Hermes does have a sale in London ever, since I can't find much about it in searching this forum, and if so, when it's likely to be. Any help would be much appreciated :smile1:

There used to be sale but not anymore I am afraid!

Thank you, and oh rabbits. They are pushing us to the point that we begin to to start looking seriously at what we are being expected to do. However much I enjoy my Double Sens it is not making me a devotee for life, and Hermes seems to imagine that it does...

Definetely you have to love H, if not then move over! There are other designers so you don't have to stick to things you don't love, I always buy what I really love and not what others expect me to... ;)
