Hello, I am new to Hermes and understand that it is not like chanel where I just walked in and bought a bag. Something my husband finds impossible to comprehend.

In my perfect world I would like a 30cm birkin in gold - so any ideas as to price and to how I go about buying one. Do I just go into the bond street store and go on a list?

thank you.

Hello, does anybody know how much is the VAT refund in Hermes UK ?

Thank you very much.

In dec 2015, i got 13% refund from NBS and since I opt for cash refund in heathrow airport, the charges was GBP 4 per receipt. But I'm not sure if same store applies the same refund calculation. I didn't really compare Hermes as we all know it's so hard to get a specific item for a specific store. So whichever shop has it, we just grab it despite the refund difference hehe.

What I compared was Chanel Harrods, boutique and Selfridges. Harrods was giving 13% , boutique 10%, selfridges 10%. Those counters in department store will follow the department store refund calculation. Since Chanel stock was more or less the same between shops, so it was 'better' deal to get it at Harrods. And the good thing that you could consolidate all your purchase into 1 refund receipt, thus you only get 1x deduction of GBP 4, in case you wanna take cash refund in airport :)

Based on my experience for Chanel, I was hoping to get my Lindy bag in Harrods as I thought I could have 'saved' 3% more. But well I totally ignore this when I found my bag in NBS. To my surprise the refund in NBS was 13% too :) hehe. Sorry for being stingy here LOL. Since it took me ages to save for a Lindy, so every dollar counts. Hehehe.

Is there anything exclusive to London, or exclusive to Europe that's available in London?
I always seem to miss out on the limited edition silks.

I just received a little folder with a Limited ed. silk, Les Confessions, in a special colour, in support of the The French Scholarship Foundation (FSF), a UK-based charity.
Let me see if I can take a pic and post it.

Found a pic on the UK website though on the folder it's red, not rose ...

The Les Confessions scarf in red was posted here. I saw one in the display case at Sloanne Street yesterday. NBS previously had it up on display at their scarf counter but it's no longer there.
