I think it's best to be as upfront with SAs as they are to you. If you ask how can I ever be considered for 'bag X', they will prob tell you. In London money is not the whole story. They have more B/K worthy (regular) clients than they can handle. Regular clients will always come first because they may spend 13K and more every year regardless of how many bags etc.

I have to agree that it is all too easy to spend £13K at once in a large H.

I've seen tourists being offered Birkins first time in, but that's after trawling through the store spending round £13 on RTW, shoes, fine jewellery and home wear.

Buying 'other' bags, small accessories, fragrance, bag charms, twillys and exotic cuffs etc won't give you the same profile because they know they can sell those every day of the week.

This is also why I asked how thar £13k was chalked up as buying leather bags don't generally help. RTW, shoes, fine jewellery/ watches (the super diamond paved pieces) and home items do.

In the last few weeks, Lindy's have been on open display in some of the London stores. It might be worth ringing ahead and asking about stock levels, or leaving your details if one comes in. Personally, I'd follow the phone request up with a store visit once you are in London.

Thank you so much for your reply ! Waiting anxiously for my trip to London : Hermes and the Winter Wonderland :) Hope there will be Lindy stocks when I'm in London :)

13,000 pounds is a lot over only 3 weeks. I know for sure if you spent this much in a French boutique you would be offered a birkin if there is one available.

I have witness a shopper spending over 21,000 Euros in a Spanish boutique and all that was offered was a toile Garden Party.

thats more sad..I actually saw a girl purchased in total about 17000 euro ( including the birkin) and got a 35 birkin in feu in the Barcelona store.

BTW, I was at another Hermes boutique few days ago, a SA asked me to buy a kelly Bracelet with diamond cost about £9600. He said : if you bought this one I will try my very best to locate your bag..

Do you think they do say that to like " cheat" people to buy some expensive jewelry or they will really get you the bag if you bought it..???

anyone has a similar experience??

Do you mean buy more items in shoes, fine jewelry and home wear would increase the chance of getting a B or K??

Thank you!! I kind of know what to do later.. Haha..
But I was asked to buy a Kelly bracelet with diamonds which £9600 and the SA told me if I bought the bracelet and he will "TRY his best" locate a bag for me.

is this a real deal or just a kind of sales skills?????

Is he going to locate a ordinary or exotic bag
Confirm all size model color exact you wanted??
Hello
Stress him back!!!
Testing you or pushing you close deal

Thank you for your advise...I will think again,, I did not accept his offer because I like the CDC more than the kelly bracelet ..

I think if I bought the diamond piece, he is going to locate an ordinary bag.. because he told me the price would be about £6000- £6300 depends on leathers.
BUT he did ask me what size, colour and hardware i preferred.

I mean,, well.. looks like a real deal.... but I still cannot be sure since I am still a fresher to Hermes.. lol

I tell it as I witness. Like I said, better to ask straight.

I think it's the real deal, but like papertiger and bagidiotic have said, it's better to clarify exactly what bag they can offer you haha!

If you live in UK why not try Paris instead? No guarantees but you could have chance of a B as a walk in without buying anything else.

Just a thought.

I agree with what others have said, stick with one store and SA and try to build relationship over time. I would spread your purchases out, as being a 'regular' seems to work out better longer term than spending a lot in one go just to get a B.

Good luck!

Thank you. I will try to stick with 1 SA and maybe go to Paris next month. Just don't feel any luck when everytime when I go to Paris..:(

Long post warning! But I did get a B...!

I've got nothing but praise for the NBS store. I went in around September for the first time (I'm a Londoner so it's not far) on a Friday afternoon and it was completely dead - I think I may have been the only one in the store! At this moment in time I wasn't after anything specific and stuck up a chat with one of the SA's (who turned out to be the leather department manager!), who was absolutely lovely and so accommodating. Spent about 10-15 mins chatting with her about everything Hermes and ended up buying a few perfumes for myself and my Mother. Inquired about a clic clic and she showed me one, I tried it on but decided not to buy it that day. She gave me her card, wrote down the specifics for the clic clic and told me to email her if I ever wanted to reserve something in advance. Left the store feeling really well treated and wanting to return sometime next week.

Anyways, I went back about a week later with my boyfriend (on saturday), waited to be served by the same SA for about 10-15 mins. She recognised me immediately and came over, had a bit of chit chat, bought my clic clic which I'd seen previously and I then asked about buying a B. She said they don't get deliveries on Saturday so there weren't any in stock atm, but to come back next week and she would help me. I was so shocked she asked me to come back!

Went back 3 days later, talked to the same SA, enquired about 30/35 Birkin, black, didn't mind which leather/hardware. She went to the stock room and returned with a big orange box! She took me over to a quiet corner and drew a curtain so no one else could see what I was being offered. It was a 30B Epsom leather GHW! Unfortunately it was too small for me, and I found the epsom leather to be too structured for my liking, so i had to decline it. However my SA insisted I came back again as at least we now knew that I wanted a 35B in Togo and she would help me next time.

I returned about 3 days later, my SA wasn't working that day, so I enquired about any B and was told by a different SA they had no B and they had all sold earlier that morning (it was 11am...).

I was starting to give up hope, but I decided to go one last day this Monday. I arrived early (12pm) and saw my SA immediately, asked if they had had any delivery today, she said no not yet but she thought they could have one later. So I said I could wait until about 1pm and then would have to go. Settled myself in a chair and started to read one of the Hermes magazines (really interesting I would definitely recommend them!). She came back at 1:15pm and said unfortunately there had still be no delivery and she was going on her lunch break, I asked about coming back later and she said she couldn't promise if there would be a delivery, but ifI I had the time then why not?

I went of to Pret a Manger, had a nice lunch, did a bit of work and then returned at about 3pm. My SA was serving another client so I waited patiently, when she went to get something for her other client she walked past me and told me to stay waiting as she had something for me! She finished up with her client (he had just bought a matt yellow croc 32 K!!) and took me to the same viewing area as previously and asked me to wait there while she went and got me my bag. Returned with a 35B size box and brought out......

A 35B black togo PHW!! I said yes immediately, and thanked her profusely. We then went to the twilly counter and bought some twillies for my bag. Upon leaving my SA told me to email her whenever I was coming in so she could definitely serve me, I thanked her again and hopped in a cab home.

I wore simple outfits (i'm 18yo so nothing that fancy) like yoga pants and converse each time, and was always polite and patient even when I was waiting for longer periods of time.

Just my 2 cents!
