I will chip here with the fact a friend of mine about 5 years ago was able to buy a 'display' bag in London (it wasn't a quota bag) she expressed an interest in a particular bag and the SM promised to contact her when the display was changed.
I was with my friend so I witnessed the conversation 1st hand.
Wether the rules have changed since I could not say as I've only ever seen one bag I liked in the display (a shadow B)

But that’s exactly what I’m trying to say and it wasn’t a friend, it was me! I bought quota and non quota from more than one boutique.
Now, I do acknowledge that right now, mostly after the wishlist, there must be a ton of people (officially) waiting for the same quotas or non quota bags, so it’s not that simple anymore.

Hi all! I’m a tourist in London and was thinking if any of you will be able to assist me on this.

Can I check what are the chances of getting a quota bag at the NBS store via walk-in, first thing when they open tomorrow? Thank you!

London operates a wishlist system, so unless you’re going to be spending a lot of money, then I doubt they will be able to offer a quota bag for a walk-in non-local. Spending a large amount of money is not a guarantee either. Stock is very low here so that may also reduce your chances of being lucky.

I believe this has been covered before very recently… due to the wishlist system, it is simply not possible for a walk-in to be offered a QB regardless of spend.

Happy to be corrected if anyone has had actual personal experience otherwise, rather than hearsay/social media stories. But when someone says ‘unless you spend a lot…/spend is not a guarantee to get you a QB as a walk-in’ it still implies there IS a chance with a big spend, so what can end up happening is someone walks in a boutique, asks to buy say £10-£20k worth of non-bag items before asking for a QB (following this advice), then when told ‘sorry but QBs are wishlist-only’, disappears on the poor SA with an excuse like ‘oh I need to quickly pop to the loo’. A similar story was posted by a member on here, so we need to be careful when giving advice to non-locals hoping to be lucky with a system that isn’t set up to function that way.

As with everything in life, I believe there is a chance. I don’t think you know for certain that there is absolutely no chance whatsoever. I thought I’d made it clear that we operate a wishlist system and that it’s very unlikely, particularly with stock being so low. If my responses can be misconstrued then I’m happy to leave it to others to respond in the future!

Thank you so much to you both for your kind advice.

I’m asking because, I was told to return to the store today to queue for bags. But, I didn’t specify I was looking for a QB actually (technically, my fault for not specifically asking the SA on this).

Thank you for your reply!
Because, we don’t have a wishlist system in my area. So, it’s too to know this information from you too. Much appreciated!

Hard to buy a QB everywhere. And I’m new to this too.

Hello, a family member from the US came to NBS shopping with the expectation of getting a QB offer. She must have pushed them so much that they said they’ll get back to her in a few days - they never did. I told her it’s not possible and it’s based on a wish list system. Best to try scoring an appointment in Paris or continue building a relationship at your home store

Hi. I was told a gold birkin would be impossible to get in london stores atm- has anyone managed recently?
I got a Gold B30 last year. Out of curiosity, where did you hear that it’s impossible to get a gold Birkin in London? It’s one of the popular neutrals which the stores usually order quite a few of so shouldn’t be impossible (not saying it’s easy though!).
