All quota bags are difficult. What are the chances of getting a Constance 18 as a wishlist in the boutiques, is it as difficult as the kelly and birkin?
I heard that fewer people create wishlists for Constance but then that probably also means the boutiques order fewer such bags due to demand, so competition is still more or less the same as Birkin and Kelly. What are the chances of getting a Constance 18 as a wishlist in the boutiques, is it as difficult as the kelly and birkin?
Hey! Belated response - that's great news on THE bagHi all. I hope my experience gives you some hope. I set up a wish list Christmas 2021 in CP for a K28 in a neutral colour. Since then I have gone into store about four times and bought scarves and costume jewellery. I love H scarves and it is probably very clear that I do. My SA is very nice and usually replies to my emails same day or next. I’d given up hope of getting my wish. But two weeks ago I was delighted to get the email (ironically just after receiving news of the passing of a dear friend). K28 in black and gold HW. A keeper. I made an appointment for the Friday afternoon.
The store was absolutely heaving with mainly visitors, high spending or with high hopes (eg mini Lindy). I had to wait an hour. I could see my SA was with a v high spending client buying RTW. In the end I approached another SA and told him very calmly how long I had been waiting and that I understood it would be difficult for my SA to leave such a client. He was very apologetic and brought me my bag. I’d now like some winter/fall scarves and a mini Evelyne (I expressed an “interest” when I bought the K but I’m not expecting anything). I emailed my SA last week but I’ve not had a reply. I think they are just so very busy right now - we’ve had two summers without many visitors and I think now they are back making up for lost time. For example I chatted to a woman in store from Malaysia who said bags are so much cheaper here. I’m now not going into store until September when I hope it will be less busy
Not sure about the aforementioned ‘cooling off period’, but wishlists still expire after 8 months, not 1 year as someone posted earlier. A friend of mine created her wish last week and the SA set it to expire next April (so in 8 months). Or maybe it depends on the boutique?
How strange! I was the one who posted about the expiry date changing to a year. That’s what my SA said to me and another SA said the same to a family member. Maybe each boutique operates differently? My family were able to create a new wish on the next visit after receiving their offer - no 6 month cooling off period
Thanks! Email came from the storeHey! Belated response - that's great news on THE bag
Out of interest, did the email come from your SA? The wishlist for orange boxes is still such a black box to me
Yes Ditto. My dear friend has also had two expired wishes for Black C24 in london.I asked for a c24 twice for my wish and never received. I changed it to B25 and it was fulfilled extremely quickly. Constance is my favourite bag but I find it difficult to obtain in London.
Funny thing I’ve seen in 2 different occasions, in 2 different stores, C24 being offered to clients. I’ve asked many times and they always tell me it’s only wish, but the dynamics of what I saw was a little bit different. Bags from wishes are being offered at plain sight (from my own personal experience), for everyone to see, and these 2 were being offered in a quite hidden place.Yes Ditto. My dear friend has also had two expired wishes for Black C24 in london.
She's decided to buy a pre-owned one and get a Geta from the boutique now.
Thank you! Enjoy your new purchaseThanks! Email came from the store
i just knew about this fact during my planning of trip in October.Yes it's true. You should declare, although I'm sure many people don't do it either because they don't know or otherwise. My friend coming from Singapore to London but they spent a few days in Paris. The customs officers charged them a lot of duty when they entered London. Something like 20% + small fee for not declaring.
Congratulations! A C24 was my first H bag many years ago. I’m always on the hunt for a new one but never been able to obtain one in London … yet! Very happy for you !I've posted about my bag in the 2022 offers thread, but thought I'd share my experience as I bought it in CP.
I have a few Hermes items: a belt, a couple of pairs of Orans (all purchased from NBS over the past couple of years, and a scarf from Dubai airport. I wanted to try for a C24 and someone told me CP was the best place to make a wish - no idea why but it does seem a lot more chilled there than other London stores. I went on a cold January morning as I thought it might be a quieter time but that wasn't the case, the store wasn't too busy but SAs were spending lots of time with their clients. I let the desk know I wanted to place a wish and I sat and waited quietly for nearly an hour. I genuinely had somewhere else to be that afternoon so I asked politely if I'd be waiting for much longer as I would need to leave soon, or should I come back another time. She was understanding, said I was next on the list and an SA was just finishing up with a client - I was seen about 5 minutes later.
My SA was lovely and walked me through the process. I'd read up quite a bit and knew the leather I wanted (epsom - more durable) and wasn't too fussed about colour as long as it was vibrant. I had a preference for GHW to match my belt but would happily look at others. He didn't really give too much away but did say most people want Cs in neutrals so my wish for a bold colour was a good thing. Gave the usual spiel: it'd be valid for 8 months, I'd be notified by email, reapply if you don't hear from us etc...
I'd planned to pop to the store in the hope of becoming familiar to my SA but tbh I just didn't get around to it! But it didn't matter as I received my offer last week and collected it yesterday! So, in short, no real previous spend in the same store (and nowhere near 1:1, with none at all at CP), no subsequent visits or pestering, just politeness, patience and I also believe knowledge about the brand went a long way. He seemed to like that I know about the new design of the C24, though that could just be in my mind!
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!![]()
