For non-quota bags such as mini eve, mini 2424 Picotin lindy or Garden party. The best places to scout are Bond street and Sloane street. However, the earlier morning is better. If you visit them before 10.30, it is likely that they will give you. I always see Slaone offer non quota bag for walkin client who visits them early.

This is what I heard from all stores

harrods forget it. There is no actual wishlist overthere. Mainly here is a market for resellers who buy quite a lot on upsale items

sloane is easiest store to get bags. They seem not active in cross-selling in this store. My SA told me not all people love everything that H made but they just want a bag and this is understandable. It is a good store to make wish and if you are ok to wait (yes with no spending required and u just keep sending email to remind them Or visit). you may get lucky. I know many ppl who got free quota bags from them with no spending at all. The best wish should be B30 in classic colours as there have them in almost delivery. My Sa also told me that if your wish expire come back to do it again. Until the third wish they will make it priority to you ( do not need to buy anything in this store if you do not really want to spend. They treat all the same unless you are willing to spend big ticket)

Selfridges gives free bags as well. They seem have nice bags to offer. However they may ask you to spend too.

Bonds street I No idea but I heard there give free bags as well due to flagship having more stock.

RX is too small. Do not waste time with them.

my opinion: make a wish a Sloane as this store is easy and they do not do cross selling to you. Keep reminding them and you may have a lucky with them. I know many friends who spent substantial amount at sloane but get quota bag after people who do not spend any penny there. it is truly a waiting game rather than spending game there.

good luck!

Apparently Royal Exchange is the smallest Hermes store in the world!

Appointments are usually for existing clients.

Just go early in the morning (like 10am). By th afternoon all stores are pretty busy.

In NBS, Harrods and sometimes Selfridges too, you'll have to see the 'Host' to register and they'll call you. It can be 10 mins, can be an hour.

Exceptions are usually, women scarves and mens' (NBS).

I only get to London after 2 :-( I was thinking of trying Selfridges first then Sloane Street, then Harrods last. Depends on time really.

Things always take a lot longer than you think at H. From 2pm is difficult at any of the stores. Most people go to lunch and then hits H. H s relatively quiet compared to other stores though (other stores in town have queues outside despite the ease of Covid regs).

My advise is to do either Selfridges and NBS OR Sloane and Harrods. The pairs are relatively near (walking distance). I doubt very much whether you'll get to 3.

Thanks for your advice! Is it worth ringing ahead to check stock? I tried Harrods, no one bothers to ring me back which is rather rude.

I'm surprised you got through tbh :D.

You can call the switchboard in Paris and ask if they have X, Y or Z in London and which store. So long as it's not a B/K/C they should be able to help.

I know i did eventually, someone took my details and said someone will call me back. Never did. Rude.

I am actually getting the Eurostar to Paris at 7pm that day, but I heard getting an appointment in Paris is difficult and its very busy so not hopeful in Paris.

Having shopped at all these stores for 13 years I am quite surprised by such advice. Nothing happens 'for free' without them looking for someone's purchase history.

Free bags? I must try asking for a free bag.

Royal Exchange is actually a very good store, the service is excellent, and if you become a good client, bags too. Not sure they give free bags there either though.

I think there's a danger building a trip around the hunt for a bag (or anything) in Europe (including Paris). Paris and London have so much to offer, many nicer things to do, see and experience, rather than stand in a queue or thumb though an already-read Le Monde d'Hermes.

Anyway the best of luck.

To be honest I would just visit one store if I was on a schedule like that
You get into London after 2, then the queue at say Harrods may be min 1 hour long and much longer if they were busy. Then train from Knightsbridge to St-Pancreas would be about half an hour…
You need to get to St. Pancras about 2 hr in advance for your train as currently there’s a lot of queue checking covid pass… etc…It would just be too rushed for me…

Exactly. I don't want to waste my Paris trip on queuing. I will try and get an appointment, I will try but I am not going to dedicate my whole trip on it.
