Hey guys! I have a query I’d love your help with….I live in London & have been on the wish list in Bond St for a Birkin for almost one year. Im confused as I see other people (on social media) getting Birkins all the time. I’d love to know, from you lovely bag boffins, what goes on behind the scenes at Hermes & how are bags offered to clients, how are these decisions made? My SA says the wish list is not a guarantee of bag its just a wish ☹……what is really going on ‍♀
You need to spend on thing that are not birkins and kellys, and you need to do so reasonably often.

Do you guys strictly shop at the store you’ve made your wish at? I went to a different store to buy a few things and the SA there said it doesn’t make a difference where you shop as it all goes on your profile and they aren’t paid on commission, just the store with your wish has to offer the bag when it’s available. What do you think?

Going forward, I would personally stick with the store that I've made my wish at. They were the same store that I got offered 2 out of 3 Birkins, and it presents a more coherent spending profile compared to having it all over the place. I previously chose to buy things from all the various boutiques depending on its availability, but now, there's never any urgency in getting any particular piece, so I'd rather wait it out from the store that I made my wish at.

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly I was thinking the same to just stick to the boutique I have my wish at. My SA was off work, I was having H withdrawals haha so my purchase at the other store wasn’t big just some make-up to see what the vibe was like there.

Do you email/text your SA items your after all at once or little by little?

Bit by bit. I try to pace out my purchases rather than bingeing on shopping all at once. Given Hermes's prices, that's a necessity unless I want to end up living under a bridge using my Birkin to keep the rain out!

Hahahhahahaa I’m definitely in the same boat as you. Okay I’ll message them wish items little by little :) thank you!!

thank you! I’ve heard bad stories about bond street, but I’ll visit that shop if time permits.
Good luck and do try bond street - it’s a great place. always full of treasures. When you first get (ground floor ) at the door they will ask you what you are after. You could just ask to browse but make sure you get to go upstairs. There is a second person there who allocates appointments for the day -speak to them. Keep us posted.

thank you! Does it require an appointment for leather bags? It’s been ages since I last visited the store. I can’t wait to go back!

No appointments necessary, you just walk in and give your name and wait for SA to be available - you can browse in that waiting period. You can always call prior to make an appointment tho but I’ve gone in lately without one. good luck!
