Is there a specific day that they make their offers? Does anyone know? Basicat I got a strong sense my offer is coming really soon - after my last trip to the boutique. but I haven’t heard anything for a few days Of course I now can’t stop refreshing my email haha

No specific day, its just when they get a delivery with your wished for bag in it...

i got my first ever birkin from selfridges a few days ago. i put it on the wishlist 4 months ago. i randomly walked in and asked a SA to put my name down. what i want to mention is that i did not get the SA details so i had no contact. i collected my bag the other day after recieving the email from a SA (this was not the SA i completed the wishlist with)

i went in store, showed them the email and the available SA brought out my bag to me. it was as simple as that. i feel people make it complicated by over spending in the store just to get on good terms with a specific SA, i personally don't think it makes any difference.

so my point is having an SA does not make a difference. i also want to add i do not have a huge purchase history. i have only ever purchased a few oran sandals from the website, never ever from store be it selfridges or hermes bond street

I agree. It's not the spend, as long as you are considered a local. In my own experience, bags were offered without much spend and early on, even when I did not know my SAs well and I "reward" them by continuing to steadily purchase what I like, when I see it. In this way I have become a longer term customer, which I think makes subsequent bag offers much more frequent. I find that specific SAs make a huge difference, as mine have always offered to search and transfer items I request, if it was not ordered by that store and so far they have managed most of the time. They also offer SOs as they get to know you and subsequent (quota/ non-quota) bags which suit my taste. I am sure not all SAs are that proactive or keen to show/ offer bags one has never requested such as Special Editions and exotics. On the other hand I never request the cliche/ reseller sought after/ runway bags such as Shadow/ Hima/ Picnic/ Lettre/ Cargo. These are not my style and they know it.

Hi, congrats on the bag! Do you mind sharing what specs you requested for your birkin? That’s great you didn’t have a purchase history with the store and still got offered!

I think the specs are immaterial-Just request what your heart desires and if luck is on your side you will be offered.
I know some people (I'n not suggesting this is the case with you) try and wish for a bag they think they have the highest chance of being offered...This is not about strategy despite what some may suggest its not a game its shopping and I believe in only requesting what your heart truly desires.
This is not about just 'getting' a Hermes quota bag it should be about getting a bag you will love and cherish for years to come.

Thanks for your reply, I’m asking specs because I’ve heard smaller sizes such as B25 and in neutral colours are harder to come by so was just wondering what your request was. That is all, of course I put down for my wish list the size and colours I love the most it’s a lot of money and I would buy something I would actually wear often.

Me and my friend requested at the same time. I got the bag and she didn’t.
She requested neutrals such as noir/etoupe/ gold with gold hardware only

I was going to go for the same, put my name down for neutrals but the SA hinted go for brighter colours you have more of a chance this way…

I requested brights such as blue green pink yellow etc size 25 in Togo with gold hardware. She then said it would be nice for you to add 30 with any hardware and Any leather.

I got offered a pale blue with palladium hardware in clemence leather. (This is not what I wanted but oh well I took it because beggars can’t be choosers haha) but I’ve fallen in love because this bag will be perfect for summer. I couldn’t refuse because I’ve been trying to get a Birkin for so long.

My advice is just accept whatever they offer you

25 in neutral is near impossible these days. But I really want one too
