Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.
If I may add, I think it is also very important not to give your SA a wrong impression that you may be a reseller? B25 is very popular for sure and seldom do people just don’t mind “any color as long as it is ghw” (after all it is still a lot of money) - GHW is also very popular in the reseller market with a better price, so your request may have a chance to be interpreted as one coming from a buyer of resellers, especially if you don’t have other purchase history.

While adding colour / leather choices may limit the chance in getting the bag, I think some SA actually appreciate that you know the brand knowledge well and invest the time to understand what fit you the most.

Thanks so much for that guys, it’s appreciated. I think when I renew my wish list I’ll be more specific as you’ve suggested.
Ive been with the same SA since before the Pandemic so Im not new to her & Im sure she can tell by now that Im not a reseller. As Ive been with her for a while I don’t really want to go elsewhere as I do like her. I think I’ll just wait a few more months and see if Im offered anything.

I thought wishes expired after eight months and you’d need to submit a new one by now?

Yep will be a year next month, Ive asked my SA if I need to renew

Your wish has definitely expired as it only lasts 8 months. Unfortunately SAs don't remind you when that time period is over so you'll have to go update your Birkin wish. When making a wish, I tend to state 3 specific colours but then mention anything similar to these colours would also be ok.

As a fairly new customer to Hermes, I went in every few months so that my SA would remember me. I bought from different departments and ended up coming under 1:1 for my first quota bag. Definitely cannot underemphasise the repeated importance of having a good personable relationship with your SA as I believe they are the ones who will advocate on your behalf to the SM for a bag offer.

Hi thanks for that it’s appreciated. How does an SA advocate on their clients behalf ?
Do you think the system has changed as Ive read (on this forum actually) that under the new, current system spending history makes no difference (excuse my ignorance but I don’t know what 1:1 means). Its quite confusing as Ive read that some people get really lucky, walk in and are offered a quota bag (apparently Kelly Pochette is also a quota bag) others have to build a spending profile.

1:1 - You spend the same amount of money as a quota bag costs before you get the quota bag offer (e.g. you spent £6k on Hermes products to get offered a quota bag that costs £6k, 0.5:1 would mean you spent £3k on products to get offered a £6k quota bag), hope that makes sense

From my newbie understanding, if you and your SA click well, they are more likely to show your profile to the SM who will then approve if a bag can be offered to you. If your profile shows you have spent across different departments + your spend is coming close to 1:1 then you are more likely to be offered a quota bag.

I genuinely am skeptical about these London walk-in bag offers still occurring as most unicorn stories tend to come from social media influencers or those who started their H journey years ago when the interest and demands for bags was lower than it is now. I'd say majority build a spending history before being offered a bag.

All K type bags (kelly, mini kelly, kelly danse, kelly pochette) are quota bags

I think it’s very rare to walk in and be offered a bag on the spot. On my last visit I went to create my first wish I was with my mother who sat on the sofa and a lovely lady sat next to her and they started chatting. She was explaining that her nearest H store is in Bahrain, she can walk in and get offered a bag. But apparently when she went to Harrods they told her she needs to buy around tens of thousands worth of items (on specific items they recommended) and they will offer her two birkins (one normal and one exotic). So it just goes to show different people have different experiences. When I made my wish I told my SA I’m also open to Sellier B and she was totally honest and said that will be hard to fulfill as it has made a recent comeback etc etc. So don’t think about it too much, go with the flow, buy things you like and hopefully the H fairies are in your favour!!

your last part is very interesting to me as I always thought Kelly Pochette, Danse and Cut were non quota (I guess in other countries) so these are quota bags in the UK and I would have to ask my SA to put those under my wish too if I chose the K category?

Yeah you would have to make a specific wish. I used to think that it wasn't quota but having asked others on this thread, they have confirmed it is indeed a quota bag in the UK. Similarly Constance is a quota bag in UK but not in all countries

Yes my SA also told me a Kelly Pochette is a quota bag in the UK. Its interesting reading about the 1:1 (as thats not the experience of a family member of mine) she was offered a Kelly 28 with no spend history although she had to wait on the wish list. Also, I have personally known of someone who was offered a Kelly (also a 28) with no purchase history, in Harrods, although that was around 3 years ago…Im sure that wouldn’t happen now as the demand is so high.
