Yes my SA also told me a Kelly Pochette is a quota bag in the UK. Its interesting reading about the 1:1 (as thats not the experience of a family member of mine) she was offered a Kelly 28 with no spend history although she had to wait on the wish list. Also, I have personally known of someone who was offered a Kelly (also a 28) with no purchase history, in Harrods, although that was around 3 years ago…Im sure that wouldn’t happen now as the demand is so high.
Maybe it is also worthwhile to ask your family member and friend whether they are still getting bags these days and if so how much they have spent.

Good luck!

I think it’s very rare to walk in and be offered a bag on the spot. On my last visit I went to create my first wish I was with my mother who sat on the sofa and a lovely lady sat next to her and they started chatting. She was explaining that her nearest H store is in Bahrain, she can walk in and get offered a bag. But apparently when she went to Harrods they told her she needs to buy around tens of thousands worth of items (on specific items they recommended) and they will offer her two birkins (one normal and one exotic). So it just goes to show different people have different experiences. When I made my wish I told my SA I’m also open to Sellier B and she was totally honest and said that will be hard to fulfill as it has made a recent comeback etc etc. So don’t think about it too much, go with the flow, buy things you like and hopefully the H fairies are in your favour!!
This makes sense to me as I am guessing that lady has a long history with her local store contrasted against her experience as a walk-in or newer customer. Harrods seems to require a relative large prespend and with not much personal choice in the items either. It definitely confirms for me what I always suspected, that it is much more challenging (read expensive) to get a quota bag at Harrods than the other London stores. Thank you for sharing.

She’s more interested in vintage Chanel & my friend hasn’t contacted the SA since she received the bag. However I do know Hermes are placing newbie’s on the wish list….whether an offer of a bag ever transpires I really don’t know.

I’ve been really interested to read this discussion and the comments have been really helpful. In mythical times one would have consulted the Oracle at Delphi but absent that I have you lovely people!

I made my first wish on Xmas Eve at CS for a K28 retourne in togo in a dark neutral - flexible on hardware. Last year I spent nearly £8k at CS and more online although I know that doesn’t count.

In the past few months I have channelled all my CS spend through one SA. They are a fragrance specialist but have helped me with scarves, bags and jewellery. We don’t exactly click (but I am an introvert!) and the relationship is very formal. But they are very polite and always answer my emails.

How do people rate my chances of getting my wish in the next 8 months?

whats the spending ratio for mini Kelly 2, anybody got it 1:1 ?

each customer / SA relationship is different.
my sister was offered a mini Kelly this week with 0.5:1 spend since her last QB in June. The reason she hasn’t spent as much money is that every thing she wanted wasn’t available. She has an amazing SA who she has been working with for last year 18months only. So I would personally say each journey is different.

Its not down to the SA its down to you and your individual relationship with YOUR SA.
As has been oft quoted everyones experience is different and individual to them.
There is no magic formula or one kindly SA who will grant wishes to all and sundry.
Just follow your own path and see where it leads.
Good luck

completely agree. Each customer has their own individual relationship. Some spend more and some spend less. I doubt my sister will always be this lucky but we should really stop comparing our prespend ratio with each other as you have correctly mentioned it’s down to individual relationships and no magic formula.

I started this journey before my sister and her path opened more doors than mine has. No 2 customers will have the same outcome.

Agree that everyone's shopping experience is different and hard to compare, just based on my own experience the waiting time and purchase history for each of the bags could vary a lot as well!

I also got a mini Kelly offered at a lower than 1:1 spend last year.

My mother and I are planning a UK/France trip for Feb/March. We have a small purchase history at Harrods (scarves and belts). Just wondering what the chances are of being able to purchase a non-quota bag from Harrods or any London Hermès store. Interested in picotin 22, halzan, Lindy, bolide 25 size. Thank you for any insight!

In recent weeks the bags you are after have been in stock online - so perhaps also worth checking everyday on Hermes website - they go fairly quickly though. That of course is in addition to your adventure to harrods etc. good luck
