Great service, staff and selection if you're after scarves, SLGs, shoes and jewelry (they had wonderful rose gold fine jewelry and a rare picnic CDC bracelet last time I visited!) They also have a good selection of non-quota bags (e.g. Picotins, Evelyne, 24/24, GP...) but I don't have experience with the process for quota bags there so can't comment in that respect.
Stopped by Selfridges today and they don’t have much in terms of bags. Also no rodeos. I mentioned I was interested in neutral shades of some bags and was offered a blue 2002 bag (forgot exact shade), which was not my style.
I just wondered if anyone knew when would be the optimum time to ask your London SA if there is any possibility that you might be allowed to place an SO? I know this is highly unlikely for me as I have only been shopping with Hermes for a little over a year. But I'd be interested to know all the same.
Selfridges is my preferred store. The staff are super lovely and I find that they are always happy to order in or transfer the items I am interested in if not readily available in store. Genuinely enjoy shopping there and always feel welcome. In terms of quota bags availability, I got a Kelly from there last year around 6 months after putting down my wish. HTH!
Just bring it up in a conversation. SOs are placed Feb-April and Sept-Dec of each year. I was only with my SA for 8 month when I asked and received my SO offer. I was really clear that’s what I was after. He also knew I was a long time Hermes customer in another country before I moved to London, so maybe that helped.
Lovely staff but not the best inventory.
I wanted a Calvi for instance and their selection was so small that I had to order it online.
But I do find the staff friendly.
My friend is waiting on a C24 also from Selfridges she wants black Epsom ideally any hardware its now been over a year (she has renewed her wish) they told her they very rarely get C24's in and she is a regular loyal client.
Thankyou for your response. I was thinking of changing it to a Kelly bag as I too had heard from others that a C24 was difficult to obtain. Will hold out a few more months and see what happens.
I think a C18 is much easier tbh because I know my friend was offered one 'in case' but she turned it sown thats when she was told about the scarcity of the 24.
With regards to Selfridges, I was also talking to a reseller who said they rarely receive items for re-sale from Selfridges (according to receipts). The main bags are from CP, Harrods & NBS - based on original receipts. So either Selfridges stock is limited or the customers are genuine folks and not resellers. Although I’m waiting for a bag I do prefer Selfridges. That’s my personal preference. I appreciate my bag hasn’t come but don’t let that put you off.
Thankyou. C18 is too small for my needs at the moment. I appreciate the response and it’s something to think about when renewing my wishlist.
Does anyone know whether London stores will order things for you off the U.K. web site if they don’t have them in stock? Having just created my first wish list I’m assuming it will be better to channel purchases through the store. Any advice would be much appreciated
I’d like to know too. I went to see my SA beginning of Dec for a black GHW Kelly belt but no stock so she said she can order it in and I’ll get an email once it’s in store. I’m not sure if they request this via the estore or notify paris etc. I haven’t heard back from her so I was considering popping in as she may have forgot. She did say no payment required now once it arrives you pay
