Hermes boutiques in London

Wow, they are getting more and more creative with their fairytale stories. It’s kind of insulting that the SA would think anyone would actually believe this. I guess they are bored with the direct answer of “no bags for you today, sorry”

ETA - unless maybe the SM at that store happens to have the first name “Paris”

Lol ya I think this is highllyyyyy unlikely. I don’t think someone is Paris manages all the wishes of the thousands of people in London let alone the rest of Europe…

It’s a shame they aren’t allowed to just be honest and say we give those to loyal long standing clients as first priority! My SA at another store used to be Hermes and just said keep shopping at the same store with the same person and it should happen.

Paris must determine how many they allocate to each store but I reckon not much further than that!

My interpretation of that would be: store creates wishes for clients, the wishes then gets collected (e.g how many this and that the particular boutique) and sent to Paris. Paris then look at what they produce/ are scheduled to produce, then allocate stock to different boutiques based on feedback from the stores. Then some wishes gets fulfilled some don’t
That’s my guess

Except we know that’s not how it works. Store Managers for each store around the world attend Podium twice a year where they order specific quantities of specific items for the coming season based on their allocated budget, in various categories. This is where they put their knowledge of the clients’ wishes (both bags and other items) to good use. While corporate always has the option to cut those orders after the fact, as they have done currently to limit supply/sales, as well as send extra items, ie push offers, stock specifics are still nearly entirely determined at the store level and fulfilled by Paris, not the other way around.

The story of “Paris” being in control of individual bag offers is simply a way for an SA to shrug off responsibility for why the client standing in front of them can’t have what they want by putting it on some nebulous non personal creature completely out of their control. “I’d love to offer you a birkin but that jerk Paris said I couldn’t. Don’t be mad at me. :(

If even that! I think sometimes new customers get prio to 'bring in' a new customers while loyal ones can be waiting for their bag...

Agree...though i still am not really clear how the current UK 'wishlist' system has changed this. I suspect it hasn't be who knows and i hear conflicting things

I spoke to an SA at Harrods and he said the wishlist is actually run by Paris, meaning the decisions to offer bags/grant wishes are made by them instead of the store’s SM, much less the SAs. The SMs and SAs are only told about Paris’ decisions and then reach out to concerned clients. Now this could just apply at Harrods, or could turn out to not be true at all, who knows? But if it is true, well, then the role of the whole ‘relationship building’/loyalty to 1 SA or 1 store is probably not as big as we think it is.
Nonsense.
I must applaud their creativity though....

hi all
i gave my WL to my SA in January and this week i did email him asking for my bag and thought by now he should have get/reserve it for me ... i did tell him for my special birthday gift ... his respond was my WL still in the system and will contact me once the bag has arrived ... is this normal? how long do you have to wait to be offered a bag from your WL? nowadays you can't call directly to your store coz the call will directly to Paris ... so frustrating

The wish is valid for 8 months so shouldn’t yours have expired already if you set it up in January? In any case, it is just a ‘wish’ rather than an order, so there is by no means a guarantee that you will get a bag within the 8 months. A good relationship with the SA *might* help though the jury’s still out on whether the SA has much/any say in which client gets a bag (we have all had different experiences), and no I’m not referring to my recent conversation with the Harrods SA ;)

tq for your reply
i guess my SA has renewed my WL coz he said it still in the system
i really hope he will get my bag before end of the year as the price increase is approaching
i have a good relationship with the SM too
based on low inventory anywhere not only in UK i don't put my hopes up for getting my bag sooner
