In case you didn't know and were planning on visiting CP soon, be warned that they've gone back on their decision to open on Sundays. The SM told me that after a trial period of 6 months, they realised it wasn't worth it.

Thanks for the heads up.
True, Harrods very close but in +10yrs I have rarely managed to be attended to! I think I managed it once after a 15min wait...

I cannot understand why anyone would want to shop at Harrods when most of the brands have better stocked shops a stone throw away. Every time visit CP, it is a pleasure. NBS comes second in my books but can be a bit busy. As for Harrods...well...I’d rather not comment any further...

Harrods is less than 5 mins on foot from CP which is why I mentioned it. My experience shopping there has been pleasant and I find it best when I go first thing as it opens on a Sunday which is good for me as I live outside of London and traffic/parking is easier then. The store isn’t as packed either. I find they have good stock of major brands and there’s also their loyalty card which gives you something for nothing (if you shop there enough).

I totally understand. Having many major brands under one roof is an advantage for some. I’ve also heard that their reward scheme is quiet good. Maybe I should try getting there early as you suggest. My problem is that at weekends, I can’t get out of bed early enough to hit the store at opening time ... [emoji23]
More seriously, I detest the crowd and shopping wise, I only go to central London for shoes and H.

I have to say while I do know really, really nice SAs at Harrods, shopping H there is best if one is lucky enough to go weekdays and early. So the experience depends a lot on how busy it is. And it can be akin to a market and require a very long wait. I have blown my SAs a kiss and gone off without being served, but that's cos I have time, the rewards points are def handy. For those who prefer a more relaxed shopping experience then Cadogan is comparatively better. Having said that FSH when heaving is possibly the worst.

Actually it's good. They have a lot of things in the dungeons.
That's good to know. I tried in probably 2011 and 2012 to get agenda refills and they didn't have them two years in a row. That, coupled with the crowds (I used to go at 1100 on Saturday) turned me off. Then Cadogan opened up and I never attempted Harrods again.

Although for a major purchase the points would certainly be welcome. This and Selfridges are on the H EU network, correct?

Last week I nosed around and saw a very sparkly Rose Gold Medor watch in the case, but I didnt dare ask the price.

Yes I believe it's all linked up. And yes Harrods has a lot of bling, bling pieces. They have a large customer base who fly in and out so their method of selling Hermes may be different from the London flagship.

You have to bear in mind that Harrods is a tourist attraction - a must go to luxury department store - especially for visitors from Asia.
The sales area of the Hermes boutique was only a few hundred square meyresy.
