Update on the “Carré Surprise” event: rather disappointing and “non-eventful” if I may say so. Just a 80’s video game like display table. Nothing more. Kept me dry for a while though as it was pouring down in London on Saturday.

I went on Saturday as well! OMG the weather was terrible and the installation is just under-whelming. I did pick up a scarf though.

Just wondering if anybody ever scored a K or B at Selfridges? I found a lovely SA and did a big shopping spree with her. I love my H goodies but I’m not sure if I did the right thing. May be if I buy from NBS there might be more chance to get my dream bag?
I met a nice SA about 2 months ago at Selfridges. I didnt purchase anything. He told me to email him what I am looking for, which I did. He replied that he would do his best but I haven't been to H at selfridges since then. He wrote he hoped to see me soon at store. Not sure if that means he wanna see me shop there. I dont usually go to selfridges very often but I am sure they offer B /K to their loyal or potentionally loyal customers. I also saw two customers getting offered Birkins at harrods in October at the same time. Spoke to both of them lol they always buy H items at Harrods from certain SAs. Did you mention to sa that you are looking for b/k? If havent just pop in again and have a chat with her and mention your dream bags. I am sure she will try to accomodate your wishes!
I think you can score a B or K at Selfridges. It all depends on the SA, I might a lovely gentlemen and explained to him I was looking for a B/K and said I was from USA he asked how long I was going to be in town and I said I was leaving the next day. He said it was a shame because a shipment was going to come the following day, so I think he was going to offer me something. I did buy a Kelly long wallet and farandole necklace from him. He also mentioned that all the systems were going to be linked together, but it wouldn’t effect the quota system as each store has its own allocation. Any each SA is different, they are all say different things. The same location told me you have to come everyday to check the stock. Keep in touch with the SA and you never know what will happen.
We did have a conversation about K/B. She kindly let me try on Lettre Kelly25 on the display. I love the size but it wasn’t for sale. On the positive side, I think she likes me. lol She showed me lots of goodies. She chose lovely scarves for me and all the colours go really well with my skin tone. She’s in charge of scarves and very knowledgable with all the prints. She has this kind of personally that can push things to happen. I don’t want to say pushy but probably pushy in a good way. There was a lady came look at my pile of stuff and started pinching them. While I was keeping quiet and just gave her a little smile, she politely told her to wait until she get serve and called another SA to serve her. Basically I think she’s a great SA. I’m happy that she protected my stuff.
On the other side, I feel like she tried to talk me off of K/B. She said that they would be too heavy for me and some of her clients waited 2 years for their bags. And Selfridges being a small store, more like a H corner than a store really. It just makes me wonder if they get any B/K quota at all compare to NBS. It’s convenient for me cause whenever I go down to London for work I’m always running. I can spend time waiting to be served at Selfridges in stead of running to NBS and wait and never get served. If I want to be seen as a regular customer, it probably has to be at Selfridges. NBS store is pretty impressive though I must say. If I have time I like going there and look around. What would you ladies think about shopping at both stores? Would you rather stick with one SA if you want a K/B one day?
For me my experience was different because my Birkin was purchased at Selfridges in 2008 when things were different in terms of scoring bags and I've maintained friendships with the SAs I've dealt with over the years. Selfridges is indeed a small store but depending on the SA I'm sure it's still possible to get B/K/C there. NBS is gonna be a better option in terms of variety but it will depend on which SA you go to there.
I think selfridges offer Bs & Ks for customers who have purchase history like you . Try and contact the SA, I believe that you can score a bag if your options are felixable ( color, size, hardware) coz it’s a small boutique unlike NBS where options and stock are much better.
For me I like both stores, SAs are super friendly. But I’m not located in London , so I guess if I wanna score a quota bag, my luck will be better at selfridges, since it’s a tourist destination. I’ve heard that NBS are interested in serving locals, unless you are super spender. IMO.
