Hermes Blacklist?

To me it's a question of how it affects the SA and store, and ethics. To keep the Mini Lindy example....the first offer I got for that bag was Jaune Ambre. I liked it but wasn't totally in love. My SA had a client who was looking for both yellow bags AND a Mini Lindy. Can you imagine if I had accepted that bag and resold it immediately? I would have used my SA relationship to make a profit - at the expense of my SA being able to totally delight, and keep, another client (who went straight there to buy the bag literally an hour later). That's just wrong.
Absolutely! It’s actually the perfect example  Not only I’ve turned down all the yellow bags I’ve been offered, but also advised my SA to never hold any yellow bag for me, as trendy and gorgeous as it might look:giggle: so, yes, it wouldn’t make sense to get other loyal customer’s dream bag to make a profit from it.
This thread made me think about all the brands that are now re-buying and reselling their goods and also about some weird situations like resellers selling H bags at Selfridges at the same time that H sells its bags on the same building...I actually think it’s time for H to come up with some business plan to take care of this “market”.

Update from my end. I’m not blacklisted. I was able to make the purchases I wanted. I did email them about what had happened in my case.

Those who were on a witch-hunt by making assumptions and attacking me, will just need to find someone else to victimise.

Girl, NO one was making assumptions about you or attacking you. I just caught up on this whole drama and I believe people were genuinely curious about what happened to you.

If you were blacklisted, we wanted to know exactly what happened since you are here to “help” other people. If that’s true, give us all the facts. Your post was super vague and I was just as confused as everyone else on here.

“I was curious about how reselling works.” What does that even mean? You didn’t know how to buy or sell something on the internet?

The bottom line is, when H or any brand decide to ban someone, that person deserved it. There was something about your post on FB that caught someone’s attention. We don’t know exactly the reasons, and since you didn’t really share, people asked. That’s valid. I mean, did you mark up the price when you posted the bag on FB? That would be a great reason, but I am glad to hear that H didn’t ban you. Yay.

This is a very reasonable response.

In November 2018 I was accused at Sevres of being a reseller. It’s a very long story but I had a pretty good idea that SA was planning to offer me a Kelly. We had a great rapport, I bought several items including a not so well know Cabacity. I showed him my purse collection which is housed to look a little like a boutique. The next day the manager was very curt and said no bags and asked if I understood the price of these bags. ( in his mind I didn’t seem to “fit” the Hermes customer profile)The conversation took a turn for the worse and he all but accused me of being a reseller... I was devastated and shocked. I am convinced that France has blacklisted me but due COVID haven’t been back. Fortunately my SA is awesome and knows that I am far from a reseller and she loves my “purse wall”. In the end I like to think that it works out... but sometimes situations might be misconstrued

I wonder whether This new focus on resellers and blacklisting will affect big $$$ resellers such as Prive Porter and JaneFinds. I have never used either of those companies to buy or to sell.

Somehow, these firms obtain collector bags regularly.
Regarding PP specifically, the Madison SA knows the client owns PP and still sells to them. Kind of annoying...

What I figured is as long as your are their BIG "customers" even they know you are reseller, they will still do the business with you as long as you purchase enough accessories and not picky about the size and colour of the bags, that even happens at Faubourg.

It’s now against their terms of service to purchase a bag for commercial use. Not sure how they will enforce that or if there are any consequences for doing so.
I don't believe this is something new. :shrugs: It's even on the website itself.

I know this is an old post but this is the closest post I can find about my situation.

I just wonder if anyone has a similar experience - has anyone been asked by your SA about the "whereabouts" of one of your particular B/K? I usually dress causally when I go shopping and save my more expensive handbags for occasions or important dinners, ie I won't deliberately carry a Kelly just because I'm going to Hermes. Then recently my SA suddenly seems very interested in one of the bags I bought from her 2y ago and she even told me to "bring it with you when you have time to visit again", I was a bit shocked by the question and I asked "why" (without much thought at the time, just found the question funny) and she just said "just wanna see how it goes with your outfit".

On my way home I keep thinking about this, her expression suggested it's definitely more than just that, I have a feeling that she's suspecting I might have sold it. This gives me a really bad feeling, I know Hermes has a lot of unspoken rules, but being suspected, particularly by a SA who I have known for years feels even worse, it's like there's no trust between us at all ...

Anyone else has experienced this before? :(

Never heard of another experience like this. Perhaps she just wants to be sure you love the bags that she is working hard to offer you. No harm in wearing the bag next time you go as it will likely buy you some easy brownie points anyway!

Well that's what I thought when she asked me, but when I rethink the whole conversation later the way she said it was not encouraging, she actually asked "the bag is still with you right?", and it was not hard to tell that she has some implications.

Actually it's been a while since I was offered anything, I understand that it's very hard for anyone to get any bags recently but with my spending ratio and history, not getting even a P18 for over a year is really worrying. That's why Im thinking if they've been suspecting that I've sold my bags, it's been a frustrating year already and this conversation hurt my feeling :(

I think everyone is frustrated, even the SAs because they genuinely don’t have items to offer their clients. I’d give the SA the benefit of the doubt here. Perhaps she has you in mind for a bag offer very similar to the one she was asking you about and was trying to make sure that you’d love it before jumping through the hoops to get SM approval. Otherwise, it seems weird to me that she would randomly inquire about that specific bag when you’ve gotten others since then. I’m curious if you have actually sold the bag that she is asking about because then maybe some unnecessary guilt is coloring your view of the conversation retrospectively?

Is the bag still with you? I know it may seem hurtful that your SA is being suspicious, but maybe the manager is asking SAs to ask? Maybe they are getting ready to offer you a bag, but want to make sure you haven't resold an item they worked hard for you to get? I'm fairly new to purchasing H but I honestly don't think I would feel hurt or take it personally if my SA ever asked or was suspicious if I sold anything, especially if they haven't seen me use it in a while.

It may be that they saw a similar bag on SM and think you sold it. Or saw the actual bag if you did sell it.

Otherwise, who knows, Hermes is funny at the best of times. It may very well be that the SA is trying to get you something and the SM has say something like: “she doesn’t carry the bag she got previously.”

But I can understand why you would be affected by that conversation. Not a great feeling to be accused of anything (including rightfully doing anything you like with your own property).
