I was thinking the same but I just loved that scarf so much!! I am usually a really patient person because I used to work in kind of custom service area and I was trained always to be nice/professional to our customers but these people just made me so angry!! And I was just wondering if there is a way to complain to the H headquarters or management!
I’m reading about your Vienna incident months later, but that sounds like you received awful customer service. Not at Hermès, but I have before confronted an unprofessional SA by asking directly something like: “ I’m sorry, is there a problem? Why are you so unfriendly?” Good way to get them shaken up a bit.

I have not been there since then! Enough is enough! If I wanna something I either order it online or ask my hubby to bring it from other countries as he travels a lot! I will never go back! I will if I spend such amount of money i should deserve at least a good service! Even H&M or Zara offer better service! And I was told by friend of friends if I wanna order a birkin I have to spend at the same time the same money on other items like a Birkin WTF

I find it to be toxic and unpleasant. Avoid at all costs in my opinion unless you want to feel bad about yourself!

Edit:I can confirm that handwritten receipts are still a thing there….unbelievable!!

So nothing has been changed!! Unbelievable! I have not been there for so many years and I will not go back and spend my money there!!! That’s for sure!! And this handwritten receipts are just sooo 1950s I am still speechless!

I have sent my receipt once to our finance ministry to check about the VAT because it doesn’t say anything about VAT on the receipts! That was 2 or 3 years ago, have not heard from them since ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

To be fair it says on the receipt that 20% Mwst is included…still, it looks very unprofessional, imagine I wanted to return something I bought and it does not even state the name/serial number of the product!

I lived in Vienna from 2005 - 2017 (and grew up in another Austrian town before that). The first time I made a larger purchase was ordering my BBK in 2009. I was lucky to have a wonderful SA who put me on the list for the K (arrived 15 months after) and a B later. But she left the boutique for a different brand eventually.

I did get the weird vibe from other SAs, also the store manager back then. But it didn't deter me from going as ultimately what I wanted was to get certain products, not become friends with the employees. Ultimately what all of them want is my money. And I want some product. If I was able to easily obtain what I wanted online or in a different store: I did it. I had zero "loyalty" to the store (or any store for that matter) and it worked perfectly fine for my collection. No worries about what an SA in a home store would think etc.

My point is: I would focus more on the products they can offer you than the store atmosphere. I do understand that a handwritten note can give you issues in returning a faulty product. Reporting it to the tax authority though brought exactly what I assumed it would: nothing. Growing up in Austria I realized one thing: no one is really interested in changing what is already established. That has both bad and good sides, depending on where you stand.

I am also not looking for friends or relationships with SAs. But I was in other Hermès stores and most of them are very well managed. I just don’t understand why the store in Vienna couldn’t be managed by Hermès itself. I have not spent any cent there for many years

OH MY GOD! the handwritten receipts! how is this even remotely possible!!!! I just can't get my head around this, this is 2021 right?
Now that I've been reading through this thread, does anyone know if any of the London Hermes stores are franchise? (I know that the one in Heathrow is but that's airport) I sincerely hope not and would be so grateful if someone can confirm. This is not just shady, surely this is illegal?

Hello my lovely fellow H lovers, any of you have Vienna as their home store? I need your advice/experiences if you would be so kind and take the time to answer  I am Austrian, but until last week have only shopped with H stores abroad (Milano, Amsterdam). I was at the Vienna boutique and the lovely male SA I was paired with told me he cannot see my online Customer profile since “everything is personal and non digital with us here”

I then asked how to score a bag upfront (since I have a B30 I told him how it worked in other H stores, and if it was the same in Vienna) - he said there are handwritten waiting lists but the ones for B/K/C are closed until Feb/March….and then if I am fortunate to be included into the list it will be a ~3 year wait.

I was included into the list for a Halzan, he said if I am lucky I could get it in 2022.

so…on to your experiences: if they don’t have online profiles…how can they know your prespend? Or does it not work that way? Shall I just regularly visit the store until they know my face?
I am puzzled how the H process works here  please help if you can - thank you so so much and happy new year

Hi MissTammyB, I live in Vienna as well. I don't know if you went through all the postings here, but the Vienna Hermes Store is the worst ever!!! I have not been there for ages and don't have intention to go back. I dont even want to spend my money there. I usually just order things online since I am not that keen on Hermes.

So they still dont have online profiles... I am not surprised. I heard that it is all about relationship between you and a SA and how much you spend at that store (or up to a certain amount). I am not sure if whether it is just a rumor or not, but my friends and I had the same experiences, it was always a handwritten waiting list and always the line: lists for B/K/C closed, sorry.

I hope you will have better experience there :) Please keep us updated.

LG
