Hi, does anyone know where the nearest Hermes is with respect to Lech, Austria?

Not looking for a bag, just perhaps whether there is some light fun shopping available

Thank you
Vienna would be a 6-7h drive... not worth it unless you're travelling in that direction anyway

The store was renovated and re-opened in 2023.

Has anyone ever purchased something on the Hermes Austria website but have it shipped to the boutique or hotel locally? Do you know if I take it to the local boutique once received, can I have then process the vat refund? I live in the states and see that they seem to have decent stock online occasionally. But I was wondering if the vat refund can be claimed somehow.

Not exactly what you’re asking, but my SA (in Vienna) ordered mugs for me to the store, where I paid for them. I can see the order in my online profile, so I imagine it should be possible to do what you’re thinking about.

If you don’t receive a reply here you could give Hermes Austria a call and ask. I think the customer service might be centralised with Germany now.

come to us, Munich is so pretty and the Maximiliansstraße is full of nice shops and brands, VCA, Brunello Cucinelli, Ralph Taut, Tabott Runhoff (Ok these aren't Maximiliansstraße anymore but in walking distance) nice food..

Enjoy your stay in Lech :)

HI @chubstersmom ! I have done this twice, the most recent time being in December 2024 and my SA did not allow me to return and repurchase with VAT refund. Both times the items were ordered online and delivered to the boutique. However, things might have changed from 2024-2025. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I agree with @CrackBerryCream to call the boutique to find out one way or the other.

I remember that I read few years ago that people were able to order online with pick up in Paris and SA allowed them to do vat refund when they picked up order. So I tried to do same when I was travelling in Spain last month. I live in the US also and I wanted sandals that I knew won’t be at store but were available online. So I ordered online and chose to pick up at Barcelona. When I came to pick up the SA told me I cannot do vat refund for online order. And if I return shoes they can’t place it for sale it store. She said she has to send it back to Paris. I don’t know if it’s a new policy or if it’s always was that way and only Paris can do vat for online purchase. But I’d definitely call store first. Because after I tried sandals on and didn’t like how they fit, I returned them and it took 3 weeks to get refund.

What a bummer! I saw a good selection of picotins, ML and garden parties online.

As a resident European I have sometimes purchased items online that were not available in the boutique (both directly online and over my SA) and had them delivered to the boutique instead of my home, as I prefer to try them on the the boutique and - if necessary- let the SA make the return. Helps to make sure your returns are accepted smoothly and makes for a much more pleasant process.

Long story short - they always had to send the items back to the Webshop and were never allowed to sell them in the boutique. Once a lady asked to buy the Santorini that was too big for me but could not, as it had to go back.
