Just got my jetsetter in port yesterday and I love the color. Not too crazy about how big they made my initials but I'm still gonna keep her  Can't post a pic and keep getting message saying photo is too large. Just a pic I took with my phone like always.

Hey everyone! I am new to the Bendel board:). I have a few of their handbag items (a small clutch and a glitter box) and an assortment of other stuffs, like earrings and some gift items for the family. Everything is lovely, although I find the clutch to be not very practical - it barely fits a phone and a few credit cards. Now, I've been lusting over their schoolbag in nine iron color for awhile now, and with combined discounts the cost is reasonable. Schoolbag owners - do you find it to be a good choice for a small bag? Does it feel cutesy or it still has enough timeless look to it, in your opinion, that it is suitable for a 30-something crowd? The last thing I want is a bag that is meant for youngins and looking like Im trying to catch up :D.

@Reba and other jetsetter owners - a couple of questions of you don't mind...

1. Does the lock clang around? Wondering how bulky and clumsy it is.
2. When you attach the straps to go crossbody, is the attaching portion stable? I can't see how it connects in stock pics, are they snaps?

I'm obsessing over finding a bag that can go shoulder, cb and backpack. To be used primarily for travel and long days out with the camera.

Thank you!
1. The lock is very light (hallow, I think), and does not clank around.
2. This depends on the size of the bag, I think. I have had issues with one of the snaps snapping open on the full size bag (I even had the store exchange my strap and the new one was the same), but not on the mini backpack and I stuff that thing full!
So, I'd say that if you intend to fill the bag and carry it crossbody, the full size Jetsetter might give you trouble.

Well I stepped into the Bendel store yesterday... I thought I could get out of there without buying anything since I've been good for a month, but I didn't have enough willpower...I ended up getting these beauties... I want these sunnies in all the colors... the black ones remind me of Breakfast at Tiffany's for some reason... SUPER cute on.. I haven't worn them yet, as I always get picky on my sunglasses when I leave the store for some reason... I do have to buy a fall bag yet... trying to hold out until I get my A List reward coupon

Hello <3 <3 <3 I'm completely new to these forums and also new to the purse-buying game! I'm currently a college student thinking about getting my first "professional" bag (I'm going to be going into internship interviews soon and I want to look nice!).

Right now I'm in LOVE with the full-sized Rivington Convertible Tote. I'm eyeing the "Rivington Woven Straw Tote" right now because it's on sale at $180, which is more in my price range than $500! . I have two questions for you professionals:
1. Do you think the price will get any better? I read earlier in this forum that Henri Bendel had clearance sales of up to 50% during December, but I'm not sure if that's still the pattern / if this bag will be in stock for that long.
2. Some people mentioned their Sales Associate would throw in a cute twillie scarf or keychain. Is that only for people who have built up relationships with their SAs, or would they do the same for a first-time buyer?

Thank you all so much! Buying my first purse is kind of scary, but this was love at first sight so I really hope it happens!

@newcollegeshopper Welcome to the addictive world of purses!

IMO, $180 is an excellent deal for that particular style bag. At 60% off, it's at the lowest for which Bendel usually sells their bags (anything more hardly ever occurs; if it does, it's extremely rare). Even their biannual summer/holiday sales only go up to 60% off anyway. It all depends on which styles you're waiting to go on sale. And like you said, it may sell out or disappear off the site eventually.

Couple things to keep in mind: 1) it's final sale, no returns 2) it is a heavy bag so if you're not used to larger/heavier tote bags, I'd take that into consideration (even the "mini" version is a little weighty when empty).

Although not returnable, anything 50% off or more is a great deal in my book.
40% off is awesome too for a newer style since it's not final sale.

As for freebies... I also hear on the internet about amazing hookups from SAs (even for those who aren't regular shoppers and don't drop a lot of money), but the store closest to me doesn't honor such a service. I think what happens is Bendel has free bonus items from time to time with a purchase of a certain amount. Maybe they give away leftovers/overstock to certain likeable customers? Or maybe they do this more frequently at the flagship store? I wanna be part of the club too! :p It doesn't hurt to ask them if you're courageous! I'm sure if you chat them up and are very friendly, that helps getting hooked up too. :)

I would buy it now. It's already 60% off plus extra 10% this weekend. Most likely won't be in stock when the next sale comes around.

Yup - its 60% off retail of $450 to $180, and with extra 10% off starting today it comes to $162 in cart. And there's also a cute nail polish quad gwp now. Go ahead and pull the trigger [emoji847]

Nothing haunts us like the things we do not buy [emoji162]

There are some really good deals on that sale! Unfortunately I have to behave but the grommets Uptown WOC is super tempting at $108. It's interesting that the prefall releases are all on sale (modern monogram, empire) but the modern icon satchel is still full price! It must be selling well!

I know how you feel. I'm debating if i should drop in the store tomorrow during lunch. They usually have items/colors that is no longer available on the site.
