Help please! Diamond and Setting advice needed

She said all of them are white and that with her experienced eye she could barely see anything with a loupe, and without a loupe and holding it an inch from her eye she can't see anything at all.

Medium blue flour? I think it's no flour at all...unless I'm missing that somewhere..i hope not :/

I just mainly wanted F-G color...VS clarity or an eye-clean SI1...perfect hearts and Arrow..and a good priced. And this one is basically that...I'm just hoping we can get it though :/ Finger coverage is nice..but when I tried out my setting with a 1.02 carat..it was HUGE lol. I'm actually really worried how the 1.5 carat will look...I just mainly wanted 1.5 carat cuz I know that I wouldn't want to upgrade it any time soon since it's so big lol.

Which setting are you thinking of?

Mine is a 1.25-ish carat diamond that I'm halo-ing but it will be very simple.

I've tried on a 1.5 carat halo - again very simple and it does look quite substantial!

I wish you luck with finding/getting your perfect stone.

Whoops- good eye, I just emailed her and see what she says. Ugh..I wonder if the flour is going to affect it...

Contessa- I'm planning to set it in the Tacori 2520 setting...it's the 1st one listed on my 1st post of this thread.

I'm not sure what your finger size is but you can use this chart to see roughly how much coverage you will get. I'm a 5.25 myself and the 1.25 is a good size especially with the halo. I think you halo is a little smaller or maybe even be same so thats another .5-1mm added.

Edit: chart not working :( but you can look it up because I dot want to link to another forum from here. But my 1.25 with halo is roughly 50% coverage on a 5.25 finger

Yeh I remember looking at that chart a while back. I have a 5.5 finger size. I did remember than the 1.2 carat in the setting was VERY substanstial. I would be happy with that. I'm just thinking that if i get a 1.5 then it'll hopefully stop the whole diamond shrinkage issue i've been seeing people have online lol..so then I can go for like at least 10 years before I would want to upgrade.

I'm really worried/uneasy about the medium blue flour now...not that happy to find out about that :/

I'm sorry!!!!! I feel bad to point it out the discrepancy but it's better you know now than later if it is. Maybe go for - smaller stone that's substantial enough? The color would bother my bf more than size so we went smaller with brighter color! GOG has this one: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7762/ it's a 1.3 f vs1 and should still give you amazing coverage and no worries of inclusions!

This one is nice too..and 2k less. I'm just very frustrated now..I'm thinking of even just buying the loose stone from BGD and taking it to a local jeweler who is also an authorized Tacori seller.

I still would like a 1.5 carat though....

GOG has excellent service but I've heard good things about BGD too!

I now remember your story! Great choice with the Tacori.....it will be stunning. The detail on it is phenomenal.

Go for a 1.5 if that's what your heart is telling you. It will look well over 3 carats w/ the halo.

I just called Sarah and she said that it is medium blue fluor...but that doesn't affect the stone at all. As long as it's not strong fluor then it should be ok. I'm still very torn though....I'm not sure if I'm ok with a medium blue fluor..esp for a G color stone...ergh.

Me personally I'd take the .2 carat drop (which would be subsidized by the halo and you don't pay premium for the 1.5 jump) and get the 1.3 f vs1 For just about roughly the same price you move up two clarity and one color. The carat size difference isn't too big. Is it worth it to drop the color and clarity for .3-4mm ?

Go with what works and "calls to you" like the setting.

Both are the same colors - F. Just the GOG has higher clarity. Carat size isn't big of a diff. I'm just wondering if the GOG is worth the 2k markup. And all of the BGD i've seen on PS..they're so well-cut <3

I'm not sure..this is just an option though. I need to discuss it with the bf and see where we can go from here. I'm not even going to try to beat the increase now because the 1.5 that I liked..I'm not 100% happy with it now :/
