Haha I'm so fickle! It's horrible! I think it's only a $900 difference but it may be too late to change.... I also have personal reasons against platinum. The bf and an ex had planned to get married I told him whatever he had before we going the opposite direction. Petty in some ways but its a complicated situation. So his previous was all platinum and so thus we moved to white gold too. I've even played with different male wedding bands so it wont look like the one he bought before which is really hard because i don't want it too plain.

Also, without knowing it, my sister ordered a cushion diamond in the 2620 in platinum so I'm not sure how similar it will look. Crazy! We could of had the same setting.

Bf will let me have whatever I choose but I'm don't know. He also was the one who is ultimately supposed to be in charge of the setting. We just don't know how or if it will yellow even if it's palladium alloyed on my skin. My earrings hadn't and my other ring is too new to tell.

So I'm all types of torn!

Quality white gold should not yellow with time.

For me, it's all about the weight. I love the weight and feel of platinum on my hand. Many don't care for the patina it develops with wear, which is less likely to happen with gold.

I'm just thinking that if your shank is to be plain and NOT pave'd, then I'd suggest the white gold for the simple reason it will stay shinier longer and not develop the patina.

IF you're going with pave on the shank, then I'd suggest plat as it's more durable.

Honestly, I think plat vs gold is a personal preference. Once the ring is on your finger, you are the only one who will be able to tell the difference.

I say platinum...but I've always had a fondness for platinum :)

But I understand...well if you don't want anything to resemble his past relationship then that's that. But honestly...you might want to think about it...what material would be better for your lifestyle. Either one should be good, especially since you said that the Tacori white gold is better than the average white gold.

OOO wedding band shopping should be fun. What was his before? just a plain one? I'm planning to get my bf the cartier Love ring. Originally our first promise rings that he bought for us..was the fake version of the cartier love ring lol. He didn't know that it was a replica or anything like that..he just bought it because he liked how it looked. Like the screw things were very manly to him hehe. Have you thought about something like that? There's a lot of different wedding bands for men out there..I'm sure you'll find something different but more nice than what he had before hehe.

contessa- We have 3 right now..if we add another to the mix then it'll be 4 hehe. We were really tempted to add either a German Biewer, Pekingese, or Coton de Tulear to the mix...maybe in the future we can :) Sometimes I feel like I'm an animal horder lol.

^ ooooh, we were looking at the Cotons as well as a friend of DH's has 2! They're gorgeous dogs and it was a dilemma.

In the end, the Havanese won b/c of the relationship will built with the breeder. The Coton breeder although friend-referred, took a long time getting back to us- the communication wasn't there.....and in the end, we needed that.

She had CUTE puppies though......and I wish we could have seen the little girl she had available. If only she hadn't taken so long getting back to us

Contessa - yup. Plain shank and I plan on wearing it everyday which I hear white gold is better and harder for. I wasn't a fan of the shank on the dantela collections but if it had a shank in pave like Lec I'd be all over the platinum. I guess whether it was platinum or white gold I'd have my reservations. I prefer a warm tone versus the grey of the platinum. I just don't want it to yellow too soon! Or have my wedding set yellow unevenly if they are both white gold. Or have it make the diamond look more yellow? Which I doubt.

Lec - that's such a cute story! The first time I saw the love collection was on ayumi the Japanese singer on a fashion magazine and didn't know it was Cartier. He wants a plain one with no diamonds just miligraining and he doesn't want to bang it up too much which I heard platinum may do. I want our metals to match. I've never had any platinum jewelry and initially wanted it because my bf worries about me being allergic?

awww well your pup is SUPER cute though :) And you can always add a friend later on ;) There was a breeder that was recommended to us, but they were in Florida. So we would need to get the puppy to be shipped to us..but if Cotons are anything like my little Coton-Maltese girl..then I def see one in my future hehe. Havanese are super smart though..they can learn tricks really fast. Is yours a standard sized havanese?

I LOVE COTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My fiance and I want a schnauzer. . .as for the second dog I was thinking either a Coton de Tulear or a red poodle. My little Bailey bear (in my avatar) will either come live with us or stay with my parents when we move to my fiance's place.

Yes. Ours is a standard size although she's on the small side as she's the only girl in the litter which included 4 brothers!

She IS so smart though. She's already potty trained and fingers crossed, we'll keep progressing!

Kohl, is your little bear a Havanese? He looks like one!

Just to add to this...(I can't help it hehe) here is my little girl Kimmy..she's 2 in this pic..but she's a Coton-Maltese mix. She's such a happy-go-lucky dog...pure happiness <3 (um...and she's dressed in her Sundays best because she had a New Years photoshoot hehe..and then a more recent picture for Halloween..she was a bee lol)

Kohl omg he's so cute!! I love shih-tzu maltese mixes....and I love them individually too! Yay talking about dogs make the stress level go way down! hahah

Whoops- I would def get matching either white gold or platinum. If he doesn't want to bang his up..then maybe white gold would be better. If you have white gold jewelry already then you probably shouldnt be allergic to it? You guys placed the order for the setting to be white gold right?
