Thanks Contessa!

I just called Sarah and she said that it is medium blue fluor...but that doesn't affect the stone at all. As long as it's not strong fluor then it should be ok. I'm still very torn though....I'm not sure if I'm ok with a medium blue fluor..esp for a G color stone...ergh.

My previous F cushion had a slight blue fluor & it was gorgeous.

Thing is, a strong/noticeable blue fluor is not preferable in diamonds, but a slight one can actually add something special to the look of the diamond.

think it over and have them send you pics and a vid if possible...both in natural and halogen lighting

LOL OMG..my bf just said to go back to Tiffanys!

A custom ring is NOT easy to plan. And it takes time to find the perfect stone and/or setting.

Personally, I prefer a custom ring anyday and I'm not normally a patient person by nature.

You'll also save $$$ by going custom, but if the temptation and frustrations are too much, then I'm certain Tiffany's won't disappoint

I'm on my phone, so I didn't follow the links to the bgd stone, but I wanted to comment on the fluorescense. Ame's is strong or medium and mine is medium to slight. I would not shy away from fluor.
There is a big misconception that it makes a stone cloudy or milky. That's a rare occurance. I think studies found that less that 1% of very strong fluor stones did that...but not all by any means.

edit..we just placed it on hold...crossing fingers and toes that his bank will come through for us.

I'm having 2nd thoughts already though...the Isee2 is really good..but just the Si1 part worries me but Sarah said that she went through it with a loupe and can't find anything...so that should be ok then right? I might have to get it shipped to me before they can put it in the setting...if I get it in the end...

She said all of them are white and that with her experienced eye she could barely see anything with a loupe, and without a loupe and holding it an inch from her eye she can't see anything at all.

Medium blue flour? I think it's no flour at all...unless I'm missing that somewhere..i hope not :/

I just mainly wanted F-G color...VS clarity or an eye-clean SI1...perfect hearts and Arrow..and a good priced. And this one is basically that...I'm just hoping we can get it though :/ Finger coverage is nice..but when I tried out my setting with a 1.02 carat..it was HUGE lol. I'm actually really worried how the 1.5 carat will look...I just mainly wanted 1.5 carat cuz I know that I wouldn't want to upgrade it any time soon since it's so big lol.

Whoops- good eye, I just emailed her and see what she says. Ugh..I wonder if the flour is going to affect it...

Contessa- I'm planning to set it in the Tacori 2520 setting...it's the 1st one listed on my 1st post of this thread.

Thanks Contessa!

I think you are making far too much over FLOUR in a stone. Seriously. Your eye won't notice that even probably in sunlight. It will overall look whiter than the average 4 based on any warmth being cancelled out by the med blue. But seriously, it won't affect that stone much at all. And will look cool in a club ;) Mine is Medium to Strong blue and I love it.

That SI looks quite nice. There is only one inclusion I'd be concerned about being that it's white but I cannot see it in the actual diamond photo. You can ask them to take some photos by the window and in sunlight perhaps. Just to be sure.

I think this is going to be one hell of a beautiful stone.

Thanks everyone for your input :hugs:

I repeated what everyone said to my bf and let him make the decision, but in the end he said no fluor and that he doesn't like the idea of it. And since it is his money, I don't want to push what I think on him.

Oh well, back to the search. We're going to try to go to a local store and see what they have. I'm also toying with the idea of going back to the original carat size that I wanted, which was around a 1.3 versus a 1.5. And get a better color and clarity instead. Like what Whoops has done. But *crosses fingers & toes*

We're not even going to try to beat the Tacori increase, we kind of accepted it and will just eat the cost, since he said that he doesn't mind paying a lot more, just as long as I love it and don't feel like I have to settle for anything. Hopefully I can find a stone that both him n and I love though :/

edit- Contessa, your puppy is way too cute! Is he/she a havanese? My mom's bf have one, and they're super adorable and funny.

Awww well don't try to convince yourself you are okay with flour if you aren't. Aren't you amazed at how straight the bf's keep us in check! But that works both ways!

Well.... Playing devils advocate here... Or just overly ambitious.... I would move the deposit from the 1.5 g si1 to the f 1.3 to lock in the price. Then go to a store today or tomorrow morning before gog closes on Saturday's. If after visiting you like the size on you, then complete the order with GOG and you get the price before increase Tuesday. That gives you Monday as a buffer. also it's not just tacori, diamonds are going up. Like ame posted earlier the rapport went up 6%.

Let is know what you decide!

Ladies....you crack me up! Fluor has been misspelled, but it's cute! Ame, you kill me!

Lec....yes my Pup is a Havanese! She's only 9 weeks and is absolutely adorable. They are little clowns!

I love that you're going for a smaller, better quality stone. In the end, that's the way to go, and if it's being halo'd, you won't regret it :D

Haha I can't spell. My life would end without spell check. However my iPhones auto correct is horrible. Each time I type it correctly it will autocorrect and so I leave it!

Haha your doggie is so cute contessa! A French bulldog is in our future for me and the bf when we sell his place and get a bigger house.

Lec - let us know how it goes. I'm rooting for you to go back to your original plan. Normally what you want first is what you want and a lot of the steps along the way are you just ensuring yourself. I pretty much went back to the start (and snuck in the setting) hehe

I COMPLETELY agree.

I am a kneeslapper sometimes.

Lec - Any updates? Were you able to visit a store in person? I'm going to live vicariously through you for the next 4 weeks! haha while i wait.

We had breakfast near a Tacori dealer this morning and walked over to check out settings and wedding bands to see if a Tacori band was the way to go (I don't think so because too "matchy" for me). Even though we've fully confirmed the order, there is that part of me that wants to be 1000% sure and since I've never seen myself with a round halo on a round stone I wanted to find one. NO ONE had the 2639, which I acutally liked because one of the things that took me away from the 2620 was that everyone has it and each time we have gone to a tacori dealer someone else was looking for it, which is weird because the 2639 is the 2620 with a round halo.... but to get to the point!

I tried on your setting!!! With a roughly less than a carat center because it was the closest thing the store had to having a a round halo on a round stone and WOW! AMAZING! I love the look of a round with a round halo and I love the shanks of your setting! How it has three pave rows! I told my boyfriend that if the 2639 had a shank like the 2502 I'd make the push for pave. haha. But then putting a mock nonpave 2620 ering with the pave wedding band was  We also put it on and from the top view saw it against the 2620 and I'm glad I made the switch from the cushion to the round halo. Bf and I agreed the basket of the 2639 was more us and he even said yours looked like a "crown".

ame - LOL..I can't spell...and especially not when I'm freaking out about something hehehe. Last week was just too crazy for me..I was about to make myself and my bf insance.

contesta- I love the coloring on yours <3 I've been meaning to get another dog but my bf said no...at least not until we buy a bigger house to house all 4 of them lol.

Whoops- I'm not really sold on the GOG stone..there's still part of me that's like "egh...." I think it's mainly because it's online, and it's not in person where I'll be wow by the stone. We didn't get to go to any local stores yet. There's one place on yelp that has really high ratings, so I want to go there eventually. But on Sat, we stayed at the new house until 3am trying to finish up the painting in the bedrooms. It's crazy because the ceilings are super high...so it took us forever trying to get up there even with a long ladder. Yesterday we spent the whole day too trying to finish with the living room. And this is with 5 people painting lol. Now all that's left is the hallway, the bathrooms, and the laundry room. Ugh. But anyways..i'm trying to really focus on this 1st because we want to move in by middle of March. I don't think we'll have any time to go anytime soon because what we're planning to do is right after work, head to the new place..paint..do misc stuff around there that's needed, and go back home. It's probably going to take another week of this to finish up. And the darn contractors said they wont be done installing the floors and updating the master bath until this sunday.
But ANYWAYS...now about the rings lol...bf said he'll just eat whatever extra cost..he said it's not worth me stressing over. Since he's really busy with work, he wants me to try to focus on the house and once this is done then we can worry about the rings. So I'm trying to just not read too much into the news about the diamonds increasing..because that'll just give me anxiety lol. Omg you tried on my setting?! Ooo I'm jealous! hehe..too bad they don't have yours, but I'm sure yours is a stunner. The thing about the Tacori is that their settings are so intricate...and even the 2620 that a lot of people have..it's still really different than most other rings out there imo.

And yup..I don't want a matchy matchy band either. I tried on the thin Tiffany novo band..and I like those. For my band...I probably would just want something small and simple..to not compete with the diamond/setting. And what do you mean living vicariously through me! I'm so jealous that everything is set and done for you! Next week I'll probably start to spaz and stress again about rings..not looking forward to it :/

contesta- I love the coloring on yours <3 I've been meaning to get another dog but my bf said no...at least not until we buy a bigger house to house all 4 of them lol.

Wow 4???!

My pup's color will change over time! She's a sable color so eventually, her coat will lighten to that of a rich cream/caramel. Hard to believe, but it should make for an interesting few months! We all love her colors now! She's the complete opposite of my Ragdoll cats who darken in color over time.

Good luck with the house make-over. I painted the entire upstairs last year when we moved in. I did an excellent job if I do say and did it alone! I still have the master bath to tackle, but will wait for the summer. And yes....those high ceilings are insane!

At the end of the day, house or no house, the ring makes for a nice distraction, don't you think??!!!!

Lec - wow! Busy busy you are! It's okay You will find your stone! Your setting is beautiful! I think the one we tried was less than a carat. When we got home I pulled up that PS post you originally posted and my bf was like wow! That's huge but it's only a .99 stone. And it just so happened that poster had my exact finger size so now he is freaked out that my ring will be too big! Haha he just kept going "no! You can't wear it! That's too big! Are you sure that's less than a carat? Are you sure she is dame size!" haha so don't shoe your bf otherwise he might down your size!

And even though we are "set" I'm going back and forth on the white gold and platinum.... But I think the Tacori authorized dealers can dip the ring and not have it void warranty but I want to double check..... I can't spend 6 weeks of every year waiting for Tacori to dip it!
