Help please! Diamond and Setting advice needed

Lec - if you want to be sure it's eye-clean before you reserve it. You can always call first thing in the morning when they open at 10am east coast time (7am for me). Then they can pull the stone for you right away and tell you in person. Hope it works out! keep up updated!
yes! I just saw that one this morning, so I sent her a bunch of questions asking what she thinks is the difference between this one and that one. I mean the main thing i'm worried about that one is that it's an H..but I heard a H vs a G isn't that big of a diff. And it has higher quality (even though the other one is SI1..but she said it is eye clean) and lower priced. I'm so confused!
It depends how sensitive your own eyes are really and what is more important to you. And also what your definition of "eye clean" is. Through all this I've realized I have eyes like a hawk! To the point where now that I've educated myself more on diamonds that I saw the black spot in my friends earrings yesterday at dinner....

Also it depends on setting. An H would or should face up white when well cut like that and since the setting hides most of the side you should be okay. Are you planning to ship it to yourself and then see it before setting? I think if you have the credit or funds, you can ship both stones to you and then decide and send them back but you need to purchase both.
Let us know what you dedide! I had a mild panic attack this morning over the price increase. I emailed her asking if she thinks I would be able to make it in time before. I really hope so! In 2008 the settings went up anywhere up to $800ish for the more expensive ones.

In 2008 the settings went up anywhere up to $800ish for the more expensive ones.no....we wouldn't have to the funds to get both :/ It's already over the budget...with both of those stones. My eye's aren't really sensitive at all..lol...I kind of gloss over the whole thing as long as it's sparkly lol. My bf has really good eyes though..so he's going to be the picky one. But he said to just go with what I want..UGH!

I knew someone else who had the 2628 before and when they bought it in 2008 before that increase the setting went up $750-800. I think it was retail for $6-7k though. So I'd expect this one to be roughly 10-15%. So yes.... I myself am kind of worried. The new setting we switched to is $150 more than the 2620 too. So we are looking at about a $3-400 potential increase. Since your retail was $4k I would say expect $4-500. But that is based off the ammount of the increase in 2008.
I also hope this doesn't make us wait longer for production since everyone is ordering now to beat increase...

He likes the round and didn't see the point of a cushion halo because he doesn't like that shape. We didn't see the 2639 in person so he didn't know it wad an option.

Sigh. I asked the bf what he wanted to do and he is still intent on the setting and wants to just pay still. I feel so bad... I told him I'd be okay placing all the budget to the diamond and a plain band but nope he has to have the setting.

I just saw that too...ugh..just found out we have another emergency expense that came up (that has to do with the house that we just bought). So now I'm really worried if we can even get it right now. With that expense..that'll be half of the $ toward the ring...so he said he can finance half..but I just saw online and their rates are ridiculous...29% after 6 months

The other post that just went up says loose diamonds are jumping 10% too sooooo we are both just in the worst position! I told my bf maybe put it all to stone and we can set it later but then he got sad that we wouldn't have the setting. But our $11-12k ring is turning to $13k with the increases.

yup...we are both stuck in the worse position right now. Bleh.
Anyways...my brother wants to loan us the money to get it but my bf doesn't want to do that, he wants to get it for me by himself. We'll see...I need to focus on this stupid house situation though and then see what we can do with this. If in the end we have to wait and get it after all of the price increases then so be it..I would rather us both not stress out about $.
