YAY!!!! :yahoo: I can't wait to hear what she finds for you. You can request a certain color and clarity and she can try to find it. Especially if you aiming for perfect hearts & arrows.

Sarah also told me she found ONE 1.17 G Vs2 potential H&A from her vendors. So all my hope is now invested into that one stone. Other than that there are some newer August Vintage Rounds supposed to come in. I just don't know when.

I'm torn between the Vintage Rounds and the Hearts & Arrows now.... I'm not sure which will fit the setting style more. a Modern or Vintage stone cut? epp!

since you have a non pave band I say stay modern.

That's what my bf was hoping for too. He has a love for the hearts & arrows, They fascinate him to no end. But also kept it open to the August Vintage ones in case we have trouble finding that perfect true hearts and arrows. I didnt even realize or it didnt occur to me that all the pictures ive seen of the 2620 with a vintage stone were all pave. There aren't many non-pave 2620s online which makes me happier because hopefully it wont be as common.

What about:

I am checking this on the fly before my kids go to bed, and I can't remember how your criteria differs from whoops. If these have already been mentioned or don't fit your needs, I apologize :-)

Oooo the James Allen one is really nice...I might have to look into that but i don't think carry Tacori huh? But the price on that one is just right..and hopefully shouldn't be a big difference between a G-H. Sarah from GOG said if it's a well cut stone...facing up there shouldn't be any difference between F-H...so hopefully she's right.

The GOG is gorgeous..but VVS1 is a little high than what I would want for clarity..maybe for an upgrade later down the line. But that stone is gorgeous <3

The whiteflash one..the specs are like the James Allen one from what I can tell but the pricing is like the peak of my price range...and I'm not comfortable going to that pricing scale just yet :/ I'll like to stay around the 11-13k range for the stone itself.

Is there a premium for 1.5 carats? Because I know once the diamonds hit the one carat mark..then it jumps up significatly versus a .9 carat. So I wonder if 1.4 carat would be a little less than the 1.5 carats? LOL

settings arent that expensive. it's the diamond that is expensive. i would invest more on the diamond.

It's just that both my bf and I have our hearts set on the Tacori setting, it's the perfect combination of intricatness (which he loves) and delicate/femininity (that I love). And so the setting is about $4,400+ for platinum :/ I know that I can pick a cheaper setting somewhere else and put the rest of that money into the diamond but I really have my heart set on this setting. I mean this setting even got me to say no to a Tiffany! lol

Lec - have you also looked at august vintage rounds or old mine cuts? They are also amazing options and would look fantastic in your setting if you want a vintage feel

I've seen the AVC and even though they're lovely, I really love all of the Hearts & Arrows...and my setting is a little vintage looking..so I think how modern the RB looks it could offset it a little (like not look TOO vintage)..and be more timeless.

And omg is she going to send that diamond to you?! Can't wait for you to see it and see what you think :yahoo: And I agree with Ame..stick with the RBs. Nothing sparkles quite like RBs in my humble opinion :graucho:

I think the premiums are once you cross 1 carat, then 1.2, then 1.5? I think so a 1.4x would be less or should be.

Her supplier is shipping the stone to GOG for testing so I'm not sure when they will get it. If no black, eye clean, we don't even want to see it. Get it made so it's more of a surprise to me from him. The more I thought about the vintage rounds I think both would be amazing but then ame is right, without the side pave modern is way to go. All depends on availability. I plan on having a eternity wedding band and didn't want them to be too "matchy".

Are you having Sarah call in your stones or just going to wait on next shipment? I think if you worried about color, I would try to drop the stone to a 1.4x and then up color.

Well I send her my new specs as to what I want, so I'm waiting for a response from her. If she can find something then that'll be great. If not then I'm going to have to wait for new stuff to come in...I"m not even sure when they're expecting their stones to come in either.

Why are you aiming for? My specs went up and down so much! Then I buckled down and got really specific which made it harder to search.

My original pre Tacori was a e-f vvs2
After Tacori I dropped f-g vs1
Then when I wanted true h&a it went to g vs1-2
Then when I was thinking about size it went to g-I si1 with flour
Then maybe av round/cushion
And now I've landed at g vs1-2 hearts arrows

Have you announced the engagement at all to parents and friends? Or have a time you'd want the ring by?

Haha my poor bf! He asked me if I had gotten the previous stone we saw, would I have been happy if he chose it. I said yes, of course cause he chose it! I think he sometimes regrets all the research I've done because it complicates it.

Yep. Most "even" numbers are. 1ct. 1.25ct. 1.5ct. 1.75ct. 2ct etc

Oh yea. KNOWING stuff complicates it. I was in charge of my replacement and I had wished I had known much less.
