Okay. No update for today. Just more drama. Of course I stopped by H at three and Michael was at lunch (who takes lunch at three!). I hung around as long as I could but had to leave as the parenting duties fall to me this evening. I made sure to leave notice that I was there. Tomorrow is her actual B'day... I was planning to give it to her in the AM but now it looks like it'll be PM. I'll be there first thing tomorrow as I'm going to have to throw together plan B tout de suite if it's a no go. This is all a little nerve wracking for a guy who usually has his ducks in a row. I do have one alternate possibility which I will float... I am taking her up to Napa for a dinner at the French Laundry (try getting a reservation there if you think getting a Birkin is difficult) next week to celebrate. I could just give her a wallet or whatever tomorrow and give her the bag when we go to Napa... "Honey I got you a little something to carry your things to dinner" I know that it only gives me another week but I guess there is a chance... only thing is I'm a little SOL if I don't get it by then.

Well let's hope that I get it tomorrow but if I don't...

Wallet with gift card and picture of bag tomorrow?

Hope I get it in the next week and give during trip?

I'm leaning gift card. The thought of driving to BH for another week is motivation enough.

NH, I for one would be absolutely thrilled beyond words to receive an H wallet for a significant birthday. That alone would be enough. And, if I got a gift card and had to wait a year for the bag to come along that would be icing on the cake! And, you are taking her to a fancy shmancy restaurant to boot!

I think you have your ducks in a row and a pretty darn nice row!

Hope your DW's birthday is a blast.

May I suggest you include a short story detailing your search for her Birkin? Include some pictures of you outside of the store, the dates (if you can recall) you visited, perhaps a picture even with Michael? Include a printout of your purse-forum avatar?

You've worked so hard to look for a Birkin - I think that will be very touching for your fortunate wife to hear.

NiceHubby, your hard work will be rewarded. We will continue to keep our fingers crossed for you when you stop in tomorrow but you have several good backup plans.

Still....with all that effort, wouldn't it be wonderful to get the bag tomorrow? Keep us posted. Your cheering section will be waiting to hear.

I have been following your story NiceHubby and I think what you're doing is so sweet!!!

You cant give up when it comes to H!! There's no such thing :p

I would not have all my Birkins had I given up :woohoo:

Consider yourself fortunate that Michael is going to hook you up with no purchase of rtw, etc. so you're too far ahead to give up now :rofl:

I'll cross my fingers for you and please let us all the deets!!!

It could DEFINITELY be a good omen....I have all my crossables crossed that you might just end up with that Birkin very soon.....

Sending my best wishes for your lovely wife's special birthday and my fingers and toes are still crossed. I can't wait to read the happy ending to this tale. Won't NiceHubby's wife love reading over this thread!
