Hi All,
Please be cautious when buying from Reebonz. I have had a bad experience with them recently.

I bought a vintage Chanel flap bag from the Singapore Reebonz Space event in 2012.
This year, I brought the bag to the Chanel Singapore Takashimaya branch to enquire on repairs. When the staff entered the bag's serial number, it was not found in the Chanel database. Due to this, the Chanel store will not accept the bag. They have advised that their database carries all serial numbers, even for very old vintage bags. Hence, they have authenticity doubts with my bag. They advised me to follow up with Reebonz.

Reebonz refused to acknowledge this and repeatedly insisted that their verification and sources are authentic. They said that the Chanel database may not have the serial numbers of older bags. They also likened my checking on the authenticity of the bag with Chanel as asking for a second doctor's opinion when diagnosed with a disease. I find this extremely ridiculous. The bag is made by Chanel. Should not Chanel have the final say on authenticity? When I asked for a full refund, they claimed this cannot be done as the bag was bought back in 2012. They insisted I follow up myself with Chanel to get the bag authenticated.

The going back and forth is a waste of time. Being the one who sold me the bag, I would have expected Reebonz to take full responsibility. They have since stopped replying my repeated emails and I am now left with a bag with authenticity doubts.

Please beware.

One of the reasons why i wouldn't trust buying Vintage/Pre-owned from the site as Reebonz only acts as buyer and then try to sell it off but have no doubts getting new items from them. So far, all my bags i've bought are authentic.

Buying vintage/pre-owned bags via Reebonz is like buying bags from Ebay/Carousell. You gotta be prepared to take the risk.

Hi guys,

I thought I'd have my say about Reebonz, I was very skeptical at first since when a majority of my friends who buy pre-owned Hermes from HK warned me never to buy from Reebonz as apparently their 'new' bags have been used etc, and I've been told by numerous high end stores NEVER to buy from them.

However, I took the plunge when I came across a gorgeous Fendi and Balenciaga. I purchased both but when I received the Fendi, the travel tag that was included with the bag started to rip when I tried attaching it, as it's meant to be placed on that specific area of the bag. I had a closer look at the engravings/ detailing and I noticed that there was an 'F' missing from the word 'Fendi' in one of the engravings on the buttons. I was horrified and found odd stitching too, as well as a crackling/ ripping sound when I pulled the inner lining of the bag - I contacted one of the customer service reps and she immediately told me to take photos and show her. She was horrified too, and told me to bring it back to the Sydney concept store ASAP, which I did.

I was offered a full refund or an exchange - since the bag was for a special event I decided to do a refund and get the gorgeous grey 2jours, I even got $50 off as an apology. The bag was perfect when it arrived and has no flaws whatsoever, I have not got it authenticated yet as DJ in Sydney do not do authentication services, and it's difficult to find this bag in Australia. I did notice that the bag is extremely light, and the front of the 2jours doesn't feel as buttery as it's sides which also doesn't have a distinct leathery smell, nonetheless I am pleased for now.

Now my second purchase was a pre-owned Balenciaga, it was my first ever Bal and was unsure about taking the plunge. Since the bag was in Sydney, the customer service rep offered me to have a preview of the bag in store, which I kindly accepted once I made my payment. I went in and decided I wasn't in love with the bag, and they happily offered me a full refund.

I have now purchased another preowned Sac De Jour goodie, which came to me the other day and was absolutely perfect, it was practically brand new! The same customer service rep was amazing and went through the bag with me step-by-step and was kind enough to mention that if I had any problems she could sort me out with a refund or add more credits to my account if needed.

My experience with Reebonz has been amazing, but I question why everyone else has had issues with them, perhaps I'm oblivious to some of the bags flaws or am not looking closely enough (rest assured, my mother makes me check every detail and inch of any of the bags I purchase!).

In regards to their promptness in replying messages, the same customer service rep has always replied me within minutes - unless the stores shut for the day which I noticed is after 5pm! Sometimes I felt like I was IM'ing her, which was reassuring to know I had her full attention.

I am getting the Sac De Jour authenticated very soon, so hopefully if I get a thumbs up, I will update this post and let you all know! :roflmfao:

Hi All,

I purchased some bags from Reebonz. I noticed that they were shipped from Singapore to Shenzen and then to where I live. At first I didn't think that there was anything wrong with it then I was told by a colleague that there are a lot of fakes in Shenzen. I became suspicious. After that I stopped buying from Reebonz. I was also suspicious as the bags were much cheaper than retail price. I just wanted to know what are your thoughts on this?

Hi,

I suggest you to exercise the highest caution while buying from Reebonz.

Just a cautionary tale from Malaysia - made an order for a small Sac Du Jour recently. When the bag arrived, I noticed that the authenticity card was badly printed with the SAINT LAURENT wordings (smeared). That was my first inclination that something was wrong. Further checks revealed many holes / gaps within the bag where the pieces of leather met and were supposed to be stitched together.

The next day I called up the Concierge in Msia who apologised that the bag must have missed its QC checks before being shipped out but insisted it was genuine and offered a cash refund (but how did the bag pass Saint Laurent's own QC checks?).

And so she requested I submit an online return request, which I did but never got an acknowledgement of receipt nor date of collection thereafter (no auto email response - it just says that someone will be in touch)! I had to ring them up again a few days later to threaten them to the consumer tribunal and that they better not say it is beyond the return period of 1week.

This time they cited "system errors", etc. The concierge also tried to offer Reebonz credits to which I flatly refused and reminded her that she had agreed to a cash one earlier. That was 4 days ago, still waiting for the pick-up.

So beware when you shop at Reebonz - if you're lucky like a few other customers here then all's fine. But there is a BIG chance you may end up like me, purchasing a defected fake and then getting the runaround on getting a refund.

The stop over should be solely the arrangement of the freight company. At my work, we send and receive a lot of packages via express shipping company alike DHL, FedEx,SFexpress. Often packages have a stop over in countries like Hongkong, shenzhen even Taiwan and Japan. Packages doesn't always take direct flight to the destination country...

I purchased my first ever Prada handbag at Reebonz through Lay-by about 5 months ago. I tried to send it back because it was made in Turkey! Though I've heard that some prada bags are being made in Turkey and China but for me Prada which is not made in Italy is not worth my money. And it made me feel that Prada isn't Prada if its not made in Italy.

I have a friend who worked at a similar company like reebonz before and according to her even though Prada is made in Italy they have the most quality issues compares to other luxury brands and they receive the most complains and return requests for Prada bags. She told me the brand's after Sales help is really poor too and advice me not to purchase from this brand in general... 😭
I guess for some brands its best to buy at the store so you can actually check and pick the exact bag you will want.

I guess I may be wrong about Reebonz. Despite my suspicion on shipping, I haven't had any quality issues. I'm certain that the bags I've bought are authentic too but with the mixed reviews so far I personally don't think I'll be buying from them anytime soon.

Hi there, just thought I share my experience with Fendi 2 jours! the crackling/ripping sound when pulling the inner lining may be from the velcro attaching the fabric lining to the bag's body. Apparently that's how the bag is structured, perhaps for ease of cleaning? the other thread on "all things 2 jours" discussed this.

The black line looks like it was drawn with a marker. What are the other defects in the bag?

How much did you pay for it? Was it a final sale product? Regardless, you should get an exchange or refund. It is not worth to pay so much and get a defective Celine.

That looks like manufacturing defect. I am amazed at how meticulous people are about these bags. I know they're very expensive and we would want near to perfection when spending that much money, but I also feel that handmade bags can't be that perfect. It's like an artwork, it's made by a person and so will bound to carry imperfections because none of us can be that precise. Unless we want mass produced, factory precision then perhaps we can get close. Anyway, I wonder if the celebrities we see these bags from micro-inspect their bags as we do. But then again, for us it's an investment, for them it's just a stylish bag to complete their outfits.

Having said this I know the issue here is more buying from Reebonz and most likely getting a defective bag or not. I would say just don't risk it if you're not one to take it to save money. Better to buy in person where you can inspect the bag first-hand. As for me, I'm among the fortunate ones to receive mostly good bags at great prices so far. The ones I'm not happy about, I simply return and as long as I can return that's not a problem for me buying from reebonz. I simply keep the ones I'm happy with because chances are I can also receive less than perfect bags elsewhere, including boutiques.

I believe that's not a manufacturing defect and even so, i don't think Reebonz is to be blamed. I've bought my Trapeze from Celine in... (again, my fav place to shop.. Hehee!) Galleries La Fayette and as you can see on the pic attached, the rubber lining/piping is not perfect. Same goes for my Nano Luggage.

Not sure why people have been having problems with authenticity issues from Reebonz (SG) as i had just received my Chiara Ferragni flats two days ago and they also came in authentic box, shoebags and all with no defects. Then again, if you have doubt issues, just buy directly from the boutique. :)
