Gucci Bamboo Top-Handle Club: 1947 'till now

I had purchased a MINI Bamboo Handle Black Patent Leather handbag for my mother during last year's June sale. It took the associate some time to locate one for me, but I finally was able to purchase it. I just have not given it to her as of yet.

Then again I don't use totes much except for my one Coach tote I use for work.

If you want a classic - then calf
If you want a spring style - then flora
if you want a trend - then diamante

The Diamante represents the roots of Gucci since the mid 1930's. Used originally on luggage and was used as a weaving pattern in canvas due to the shortage of leather during the war. Please check out the diamante info on their website under, world of gucci > the house of gucci > gucci icons > diamante.

I was going for the flora but then it was sold out unfortunately. On the bright side, I grabbed the diamante print since I don't have an all leather bth as the one I have is the classic canvas version. Can't wait to receive it and carry it in the summer!

Love the diamante, and think you made made a great decision as you already have one canvas with leather trim. I don't have any diamante so for me too it would be a great choice. I can't wait to see

I'm a bit worried they're going to discontinue this bag (BIG mistake IMO) so anyone who wants one better get on it now

No problem PT! I know you are busy especially now moderating too! I don't have a diamante logo anything and this is a beautiful bag with a beautiful iconic logo I couldn't resist. I will definitely post a pic when I get it!

I also have a feeling they will discontinue this one as well and that's why I decided this is the best time to buy another one before there's none left!

I really cannot see GUCCI discontinuing the Bamboo Top Handle bag. It is one of their staples, like the Jackie bag. I do, however, see them narrowing down the quantity of sizes and fabric/leather choices available in the line. This bag is one in their line for the "Made to Order" program where you can choose the size, fabric, color, hardware.

It sure has been a busy time on the Gucci site with this upcoming sale! Everytime I look at the site they have sold out on a lot of items.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think MTO will still be possible but they might only bother for ostrich and croc. My SA says that lots of their MTOs and SOs are stuck in the pipeline right now, no idea whether they'll go ahead or not. And these people have paid 50% deposits!

I can't tell you how much I would love this bag, and it's now on for $1929. I'm going to Gucci after work tomorrow but I bet Europe hasn't got it

I'm off to the preview tomorrow so we'll see what that brings. There is a new Autumn limited edition BTH that is not on sale but it isn't that much more than this hair calf that is, also very nice. My niece want a Disco but I know the preview started Monday so I don't hold out much hope for her...

I checked out the price and basically it's about £1.2K V £2.1K, so take no notice of what I said earlier, that's quite a difference in money
