Are they phasing out the small shopper? I noticed that it's not on the official site but only on NM and Saks. *prays it goes on sale*
I'll pray with you. Lol

No, it stays firmly in place.
But after carrying it for a year (and not carrying it very often) I can tell you that the leather "sags." And, as you can see, not in a good way!
ETA: This is the Medium, in Maple Brown.
Another question i would like to ask. For shopper tote, the "made in italy by Gucci" is stamped on. Will it fade/ scratch off easily?
Thank you.
Love it on you, and what a pretty colour panterka
I have the Medium Shopper, and I posted a photo on the previous page to show the sagging. I didn't ever overload the bag (like with a laptop, or something similar!) and I don't think I carried it more than 15 days in the past year so I don't understand why it happened.Ladies... How bad is the sagging? I'm hoping it won't be too much if it's just the small shopper, right? That's the one I'm planning to get but I'm a teeny big worried about the sagging.
Yea, think so too. Maybe i shouldn't be so worried about it!!
Still looking very nice indeed. Common problem with lots of bags, have you tried it with an insert?
I think it happens to most leather bags. There are a few leathers it's less likely, like bull calf but these tend to be very heavy, they undulate rather than 'sag', the Soft Jackie line is made from it. Stamped leather is often stiffer (as on the Brights) but then people complain that it looks unnatural and feels 'plasticy'. Having a leather/suede lining helps to keep a bag's shape too but of course it adds to the weight too.
I would advise trying an insert, I know lots of ladies use one with an Hermes GP which has a similar challenge

I hadn't thought about an insert. Would that straighten it out, papertiger, or simply prevent further sagging? What sort of insert would you recommend? Also, the Shopper is a divided bag, so it would require TWO inserts!![]()
What good advice, papertiger! I'll begin doing some research. I agree with you... it's having the bottom flat & corners sharp that I'm most concerned with.Have you read this thread yet?

A base shaper and/or an insert (or 2) may help saggy-ness and/or floppy-ness. For me the issue of the base staying flat and firm is the most important, addressing that first will help the overall appearance. If you can find a very firm-bottomed (excuse me
) insert that would obviously be the best option.
It seems harder to find suitable bag inserts and base shapers in Europe but I'm going to go hunting in dept stores soon. Certainly I am refusing to pay over $100 dollars for an insert that I've seen on line - no matter how fancy. Base -shapers are available in many sizes from e- bay US etc, and come in all sizes, although you may need to find your bag's LV equivalent for the word-search. I make my own base shapers from thick cardboard (cutting round the inside of a line I've made from measuring the bag i.e. I don't draw round the bag in case of pen accidents). Then I cover the base in a cotton fabric (usually made from an old tee-shirt). My mother showed me how to do this because apparently everyone used to do this, including reinforcing their suitcases.
Here's my new bamboo bag. I bought it in spain a few months ago when the euro was super low compared to the dollar and I got my VAT back too!
