well its good to hear that someone had good experience but i can tell you my experience that i have postes in the forum under diff thread but i can tell you that i was humiliated on just asking abouut birkin/kelly what the SA told me was "i just can not walk in and ask or get a birkin i have to build the relationship with a SA" I asked how do i do that and i was told i have to have a buying history and "online buyiong doesnt count you have to buy from this store" I asked how much do i have to spend " it can be anywhere from 10,000.00 to twenty thousand we can not just give you a number but even then i may or may nor get birkin" This is exact conversation so you tell me what should i think. I was furious the way i was treated in that store they have no right to disrespect anyone especially when someone is your client. I was basically told that i can never have birkin as i mentioned that "should i go to europe" i was told "NO as there is so much tourism that they hardly have any birkins in their stores" I was discouraged, humiliated and not treated with respect which is plane and simple wrong. You can walk into a chanel, LV store or Gucci store excellent service in SCP !!!! H store in SCP sucks!!! imo
Yes, I agree, completely inexcusable. I am sorry for your poor experience. It is certainly discouraging. I do not think you should have to spend $10-20,000 before you get offered a B or K. If it means anything, perhaps, take it as a learning experience and see if you can build a relationship with an SA at another store???? Best wishes to you. I hope you get your dream H item soon.

your friend might be lying, salesperson won't do that. they may accept small gift like food or sth, but more than $1000? i think that is radiculous................ your friends bags may be fake, or from ebay, or the salesperson just likes her.... but taking money from customers, that's no way...

Sorry to be another person to chime in on SCP but they are ten minutes from me and unfortunately have had only had bad experiences with them. I started shopping with them over three years ago, spent well over $10K, but never got the call for the bag I wanted. It is too bad since they are so close to me. Meanwhile, I'm happy to say I didn't even need to spend close to $5k on the other two local stores in southern California and Vegas and got calls within a couple months. Fortunately any snooty experiences you've had at SCP is definitely not representative of Hermes as a whole.

As far as the OP's comment about the tips, I've never heard of that. I've been able to get six Birkins/Kellys from three different stores in last two years by just building relationships with SAs. You've just got to find the right store and SA for you (I learned the hard way with trying unsuccessfully with SCP for over a year).

I have to agree. I think the Beverly Hills boutique is better if you live in the OC area. It may be worth the drive. Last time I visited BH, they had a better stock selection and better service.

Encore or the Crystals in City Center.

I visited the Hermes in SCP this past week. The SA said that the Chinese are buying the bags as soon as these arrive in the store. They just come in the store and buy in bulk as of this year so there is a shortage of bags worldwide. :shrugs: This sounds crazy to me! I know that the Japanese would visit SCP in large groups and go on a shopping spree. But now the Chinese? Oh, the SA was Chinese herself. She's been very helpful to me over the years .. They were out of Kelly wallets too. :pout:

I wonder if the sudden craze is because the Kardashians are seen carrying 35cm birkins. :thinkin:

My home boutique has introduced a quota system where one person is only able to buy one bag at a time. I don't understand why the similar rule hasn't been applied elsewhere. I don't understand why anybody can be allowed to buy in bulk?

This is so horrible! Lately I have been sad myself for not been able to get my first dreanm Kelly or Birkin. I live near South Coast Plaza Hermes and the demand so high that I have never seen neither of those on display. And the SA over there kept on telling me to build buying history (to what point ??? I have no clue !). I am thinking getting one from Ebay but so afraid so many of them are fake
There will be an auction at Christies on vintage Hermes bags tomorrow November 16, 2011. More then 60 items on the lot. Prices are from €1500 and up. You can bid online.

Ita agree with this. I live ten minutes away from SCP and would love to shop there but have always had bad experiences there. Vegas is much, much better. Last time I went to SCP one of the SA's started trying to name drop with me 'celebrities and socialites' he had turned away for bags!!

I have to chime in here. I was just called by an SCP SA who sold me a Tosca Birkin over the phone. I've bought many SLG and jewelry items from this SA and only once mentioned that I'd like this bag. The same boutique can have great and horrid SAs. It's a matter of finding the right one.

I so want to believe this, but I am one of the people who is not a fan of SCP, well, not yet, at least. I think at least 2 people here had asked you to share who your SA is by private messaging. I don't know if you ever did share, but if you are willing, can you please let me know who this wonderful SA is also???

And how long did you wait for the Tosca Birkin?? and I remember you saying that you didn't have to spend over $10k to get a Birkin? I am hoping you can share more of your experiences so I can at least get some hope....... :smile1:

Sorry to say, but I can back up Heatherlite and say that I too (as I have earlier mentioned in this thread) have been offered Birkins without mentioning it. And it was via phone. I do not think that the SAs name is critical to the point being made at the end of the day...that some SAs operate different that other SAs and it really is the "luck of the draw" for each customer. Lucky one time doesnt mean we always will be...

Heatherlite - You lucky gal !!! Your SA is so nice to keep an eye for you. In my local H store, the SAs have to get the manager's approval before they can set any Ks & Bs, EVEN THOUGH IT IS ON DISPLAY !!!! Is it true in SCP or does your SA offer you without getting the manager's approval first ? I find it funny that the manager has to approve each birkin's purchase.
