Giving TIPS to sales in order to get a BIRKIN?

I am giving up also. I realized that SCP is a smaller store and honestly they don't even have a lot of items in stock compare to BH, and they don't get to have as many B or K as other stores... I was trying to build my purchase history also, and if I need to buy $10k worth of stuff to get a $10k birkin, I think it's more 'economical' for me to just pay, let's say, $13k from a third party!!! that's way, I save $7k!!! lol
That is sound advice.

However, some of us are not into H only because of their bags. I love their shawls, boots, RTW, small leather goods, CDCs, KDs, KDTs and so on. I´m very fortunate to feel this way and I simply don´t worry about how much to spend in order to be offered a Birkin:smile1:

:goodpost: and I feel just the same.

I think I'm in the minority. I have a great phone relationship with an SA at SCP...always pleasant, calls with items on my wish list when they come in and does inventory searches and has the items transferred when they're not in the boutique. Never have I been asked to spend a certain amount.
I agree with theother tpf member that u r not probably not in minority but maybe only one that has had good experience with SCP and if you dont mind telling us the name of theSA or privatemessage if you dont want to mention his/her name but interestingly did you get a kelly or birkin from them???

I too have a good relationship with SCP. I consider myself a client who enjoys shopping the whole brand, not just 'the bag'.

I think if a person is only interested in one or two styles of bags then perhaps buying resale is the best route. Resale would be less expensive and quicker in the long run and then one doesn't have to buy things that they don't want/like in hopes of being offered a bag.

I also consider myself a client and is interested
In the brand and like something's and I don't like
others but you know and Hermes knows what products
are most popular but wether you are interested
in whole store or one bag as a free human being
living in a free country I deserve the right to buy
whatever I like and I can afford SCP has no right
to treat any client disrespectfully and force
them to force many of us to spend money and u can look
at other posts and majority have the same experience

While certainly no one should treat anyone else disrespectfully, and while retail sales are usually (and ideally) ********ic in practice, the fact is that Hermes does have the right to decide how to allocate their goods. And SCP is not "forcing" you to spend money; they are (however distasteful it may be) telling you that there is a threshold buying level necessary before one is offered some of the most desirable/limited items. I find some (most) of this annoying and unfair, but have decided to tolerate it because I can generally obtain what I want and am okay with not succeeding all of the time. I have found a few SAs who don't play games with me, and am happy to do my buying through them. What they can't obtain for me, I don't get! So, as irritating as the Hermes buying protocol can be, we choose whether to participate or not. None of us are "forced" to do anything; Birkins are not essentials.

The tPF members posting dissatisfaction are not necessarily representative of the majority of SCP Hermès clientele.

If I were treated with disrespect anywhere, it would be the last time I shopped there. And you are right, nobody can force a person to spend money. That is your choice.

I am interested in their other leather goods also, and some shawls. But for them to just flat out tell people that you need to spend, spend, spend, especially on the RTW.. to me, it's just tacky!!
