****Givenchy Care Thread****

do you put it against rough surfaces or don't baby your bag? I have many G bags and I've yet to see any wear. if it's black, a little shoe polish will touch up some of the spots...that's what's so great about black.

Any polish you recommend? It's is the only bag I don't baby I'm not too bothered about it ATM but its good to know for when it gets worse. I was wondering wether to use some waterproof spray on it on or condition cream. I'm totally new to how to care for my bags with treatments, I got it from selfridges and it just says use specialist cleaner. It's the washed goat leather in black. Thanks!

i think another tpfer recommended something. worth trying that one out since multiple ppl have tried it out and had success.

So far I have never pre-treated any of my bags except for my Bal. I want to confirm with you ladies who have Gales and Ants in goatskin leather and in dark colors (black and aubergine in my case) that it is not necessary to pre-treat my bags. The SA said I shouldn't but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

I dont pretreat any of my leather bags from G, which are all med to dark colors.

I have a purple Givenchy Nightingale. Is it normal to have uneven color on the bag? I've had it a couple of years now and I enjoy it. It was that way when I bought it at a outlet store, but I've always wondered about the discoloration.

Thanks for the tip. Did the SA tell you to do/ or not do anything? Do you find yours hard to care for or that you need to baby it a lot. I find myself being extra careful and I'm not used to it. I've also got Collonil leather care products but still hesitant to use on this bag.

(Sorry- really new to leather care- I usually don't buy light colored bags so am a bit paranoid now going into winter and lots of rain)
Hey there! How have you been going with your bag? I just recently got the same beige one but in a small and was wanting some care advice as well (living in australia too haha)

Not normal. Either it was scraped or stained against something or store may have wiped down area too much afterwards

Hey! My bag is going great. It has been exposed to light rain, and I do give it a wipe as soon as I have the chance to, and no marks are left on it.

I didn't pre-treat it as I called a Givenchy store overseas and they did not recommend it. When I brought it to a cobbler though, they did recommend, but I chose not to, just in case.
I'm pretty careful with it to make sure I don't scratch it/ don't wear with dark denim, so I do take extra care compared to other bags, but overall hasn't been too bad to care for.

Let me know if you do treat it and what happens  enjoy the bag! It's a great colour!
