Funny Things Overheard About Coach!

I just had a good one at work.

Male coworker: "Is that a Coach purse?"
Me: "Yes"
Male: "I'd never buy my wife a Coach purse" (said as if it's the height of expensive)
Me: "Well good thing I don't have to rely on a man to buy me sh!t."

Good for you! Once when I was standing in the checkout line at the outlet I overheard 2 woman talking about "how their husbands hate coach" and "think that they have too many purses" and "it's a waste of money"!

One of them said that she told her husband "you smoke a pack a cigarettes a day, so how much does that cost? Every few months I buy a new purse - so deal with it!"

This isn't funny per se but it is enjoyable.

Yesterday at the outlet I inserted myself into a group of 2 friends who were talking to an SA about large coach wristlets, because I was interested in the mahogany and black madison needlepoint op art wristlets that they were looking at. One of women was also looking at a black/gray sig MFF wristlet.

When the SA went back to the stock room to look for more wristlets I said to the 2 women customers. "Did you know that this wristlet (the black/gray sig MFF) was made for the factory stores but these other ones (the Madison needlepoint op art wristlets) were made for the boutique stores?

They are all the same price and the only thing that really matters is 'Which one do you like best?' but the boutique wristlet is probably a better bargain."

They were surprised to hear what I had to say and asked "How can you tell?" So I showed them the creed inside my bag that doesn't have an "F" after the hyphen, and I showed them dot on the "made in" tag inside the MFF wristlet.

One of the women said "I thought that these (the FP deletes) looked different from others that I've seen, kind of unusual!"

She ended up buying the black Madison needlepoint op art wristlet and I got the mahogany one, see link below.

I think that I made a convert! I have some lovely MFF accessories that I enjoy very much, but once you own a boutique item - you can usually tell the difference, IMO! :D

I was in a Nordstroms yesterday in the section with the higher priced bags (Chanel, Balenciaga, Gucci, etc). As I was browsing the Gucci, a SA came up to me to see if I needed any help. We chatted for a minute or two and the he said - Oh my gosh, your bag is GORGEOUS! Who makes that?!? I was carrying my Large Striped Borough. I replied - Thanks! It's Coach. He said something like - Wow! Coach makes some really nice stuff. They have great leather. I wish I had a camera because the look on his face was priceless! It was total shock that it could be Coach.

I know! There is such a wide variation of opinions about Coach! Some people hear the name Coach and think that it is too expensive to own; while others feel that it is common and cheap. But Coach does make some beautiful, high-quality, and (sometimes) affordable items!

I was in a department store and I overheard two ladies at the coach counter that we're looking at the new Madison saffiano totes. They were talking about how much they loved them until one of them actually touched it. The other asked if it was leather and the first lady said "no! It's plastic!" Lol. I didn't say anything...

Before I was really into Coach, I bought a few replicas - legitimate replicas, sold by a couple of sisters in my Curves (womens exercise studio) group. (I say legal, because they researched, and as long as they didn't have Coach hangtags, or creeds, they were legal to sell - at least in CA). They were all $40 - be it signature, or leather.

"

Just FYI, that's not true. Any item that has ANY of Coach's registered trademarks including Coach's name and all the registered variations of the Signature C design and that wasn't made by Coach is counterfeit and illegal. Period.

Someone's knowingly selling fakes and expects people to believe that they actually "researched" the issue and found their fakes are legal? Yeaaaahh, right. And the state doesn't matter, anti-counterfeiting laws are enforced by the Feds including Homeland Security and the FBI, among others.

My daughter's boyfriend's mother saw her cute little Coach pouch that she uses for makeup (the first picture) and thought my daughter deserved a new purse. She gave her this! (the second picture)

My husband doesn't care about bags but he has picked up some nuances from hanging around from me.

While we were out buying new phones the other night there was another customer in the shop wearing a wild "hot mess" outfit and she was carrying an ugly, cheap fake coach with G's all over it.

At one point my DH whispered to me "So what does the G stand for? Garbage!" I said "That's it, exactly!"
