I was carrying my Anna Sui Dragon Fly duffle in my local Coach store and one of the SA that I was familiar with said, "oh see that bag you have? It is quite similar in shape and size to our new Duffle bag!" She didn't have a clue until I said it was a Limited Edition Anna Sui bag for Coach...I think at the end of that she was still not convinced it was a Coach. But's it funny when we tPFer's give some SA's 'lessons' on their products....;)

I have the same bag, it is my Coach holy grail bag, and no one EVER guesses its Coach. I have one Coach with siggy, one python Maggie, and the rest are vintage or Legacy. I love surprising people with my nice Coach bags!

Last year I was at a store in the mall waiting to be checked out .The woman ahead of me had an outlet signature crossbody and I was using my Dragon Fly .The two sales Associates just gushed about the siggie bag and not so much as looked at my bag! lol

I just had a good one at work.

Male coworker: "Is that a Coach purse?"
Me: "Yes"
Male: "I'd never buy my wife a Coach purse" (said as if it's the height of expensive)
Me: "Well good thing I don't have to rely on a man to buy me sh!t."

You rock. And that's awesome, My boyfriend commented he'd have to make more money so he could afford to buy me bags. I told him, "honey, I've bought all my own bags thus far and I intend to make enough money to always buy my own bags. "

I know some people buy bags with their partners' money and I see nothing wrong with that. But my mom taught me to be monetarily self sufficient so that's how I roll. Not to mention then I don't have to explain or request permission for my purchases!

Good for you I never am ready for the killer comeback until an hour later when it is too late. :)

Amen! My mother taught me the same. It's great to have a partner to share your life with but ALWAYS, ALWAYS be able to depend on yourself.......:D

Preach it! I love your response! I do feel bad for your co-worker's wife though. He sounds like a tool.

Love it, great response

All I can say I am glad I am not his wife

LOL, I doubt my DH would buy me a Coach bag; if he spends $$ on me it'll be a Kindle or the like. That's why I buy my own Coach bags!

My DH used to give me a lot of crap about my purses, until he started buying nice guitars and synthesizers. Every time we walk into Guitar Center it's a $1-2000 trip so he knows better than to say anything when I drag him to the mall. It's cute though, my SA's think he's adorable, and they even called me to tell me they got new lounge chairs in the boutique for the new floor set so "Don't be afraid to bring the hubby, it's going to take a while".

I went into one store carrying a Reed Krakoff bag and the SA commented on my bag, how it looked similar to the Riley Bleecker, then asked what type of bag it was. When I replied Reed Krakoff, she looked at me and said, "Who's that? I've never heard of him."

She was very nice; I just said he's a designer as I wasn't really sure how to respond.

Hahaha! I had the same thing happen in a Louis Vuitton store when I was carrying a Marc Jacobs bag!!
