I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

24/24 was never really on my radar. I thought it looked cute, but the price tag seemed kind of steep. Then again, I bought a Lindy and the price tag of a Lindy is kind of steep, too. So do I just tell my SA I'm not interested even though I've been bugging her about finding BF for me? (Sounds like a silly question, but it's hard for me to say "no" sometimes.) I have an appointment this week to see it.

+1 about needing to love the bag and not just BF.

FWIW I jumped at a BF Halzan 31 because I knew I loved the bag and since I view both the Halzan and BF as more "casual" it seemed like a great combo. I'm not a Birkin gal so I can't comment on that, but I don't think I would get so excited about a BF Kelly because I don't see the combo as fitting how I would use the bag or a "must have" addition to my collection.

Looking forward to hearing what you decide after you see (and SMELL!, lol) it in person.

I completely hear you and am the same way. I would just use it as an opportunity to reiterate how much you want BF, but you want to hold out for a B or K. Your SA will understand.
If your SA came to you next month with a BF B/K, would you be disappointed you got the 24/24? I think that should answer your question.

Thank you @bagnut1 and @TeeCee77 ...this is exactly what I needed to hear. I need to love the bag first! Duh! And yes, I would be pretty upset at myself for buying a 24/24 if a BF b/k came soon after. BUT will a 24/24 lead to a BF b/k?! Anyway, I already know the answer to that. I buy only things that I love and not things that lead to b/k. :heart::angel:

Part of the joy of the Barenia F is the natural look to the leather and one that will change every time you take it out I love mine so much

A little update on my 24/24 barenia "offer"-- I went to see the bag yesterday and it was my first time handling a larger piece of barenia leather and OH my...it was beyond DIVINE! The smell, the weight, and the handfeel of the leather was beyond incredible. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get past the way the bag intrinsically tilts, so I went home without a bag. My SA, who has only worked at Hermes for about 13-14 months now, said she hasn't seen a fauve b25/b30 or kelly 28 in this leather yet. I don't know how true that it because she brought out a barenia b35 and said it was available to me. So if a 24/24 came in in fauve barenia and there's a b35 sitting in the stockroom in barenia, then she's just trying to set my expectations low, right? How often do you see fauve barenia come into your boutique?

I know that my boutique got BF in saut hermes, 24/24, Halzan, and Constance last month... My SA didn’t bring up B or K, and neither did I since I brought home the Halzan... but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they didn’t get a B or K. (My SA knows I’m not actively looking for another Kelly bc I just placed SO, and I don’t want a B.)
I do feel like quite a few folks posting are BF purchases here lately, but I have not seen any smooth barenia.

I would get the b35 if I had the chance - Barenia in a large tote sounds like a perfect combo of leather, shape and function!
