I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

Less delicate than you think- it can get wet, easily dries with no stains, light scratches rub out, etc. Read through this thread and you will see, barenia and BF are wonderful leathers.
Use and enjoy yours- its not delicate! :biggrin:

Long time stalker, first time poster :)
Was wondering what the wise posters on the forum thought about this quandry.

I was blessed to win the H online lottery with a 24/24 size 29 in BF with PHW. I was so excited about the bag coming in but alas as I opened the box I saw that the bag might not have been the freshest.

Now I know that BF is a hardy leather and I’m wondering if I’m just overreacting about the quality of the product sent to me for that price tag or if I should return the item.

This bag in BF is just magical to me and if I returned it, I don’t know when I’ll run into it again. Then again I don’t want a product that’s dinged up before I get a chance to do it myself!! The first photo is the one that bothers me the most, and it appears to be a deep scratch with white showing. I don’t know if the patina over time would be able to cover it up or not. Should I grin and bear the scratch or should I return it and see if this bag is in the cards for me in the future?

Lovely bag! Unfortunately this quality
would be very disappointing to me and I would 100% return the bag. Do you live near a boutique? I would consider going by one and either bring your bag or tell them what happened and see about possibly sourcing one for you. I hope you find another!

That's a tough call with this leather IMO. It WILL get marked the very first time you wear it (even inside of the house!). If the issues you show are the only ones, then personally I would just keep it given that it may be a long wait for another. But everyone's tolerance is different.

It might be worth a call to CS? They'll likely tell you just to return it, but maybe they can do a search for other inventory and find you a fresher one for an exchange?
In any case, CS needs to know that a bag with not insignificant marks was delivered to a customer, and to make sure that the bag doesn't get passed on to yet another unwitting customer.
