I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

I am recently offered a Barenia b30. I love the history of this leather and the blind stamp and the feel of the leather. However, I am afraid of the uneven tone during the patina process. I understand it gives this bag personality.

I am just wondering if I can avoid uneven color patches if I use it carefully. If I like uniform looks, is this bag not really for me?

Thanks you all for any input. I am quite torn

Barenia or Barenia Faubourg? I was originally worried about uneven tone, but BF is just lovely. I am very careful with mine and always use twillies, but even then, the corners on mine are getting a bit darker. It isn’t patchy or anything. It’s very complex but not a flat uniform color like togo. If you want uniform and something that won’t change, I would pass. If you want something unique and complex that will change over time, BF is for you!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, it’s the Faubourg. It is good to know that it will not develop dark patches. Another question is will it slouch more or less than Togo?

My BF is very thick and wonderful. I store it on its back with a pillow inside. I do the same with my togo bags. I’ve only had it less than a year and it hasn’t slouched at all. But neither have my togo bags ‍♀️

If you haven’t already, you really should go see it in person. BF is to die for.

TeeCee77 is right, the leather is thick and shouldn't slouch if stored properly. And yes the smell of the leather is very nice! Lol.... Personally at the rate I've seen BF being offered, I don't think it's that rare to be honest but perhaps I'm mistaken? [emoji28]

Let's just say BF is less rare than smooth Barenia. We keep advising people not to buy based on rarity.

My newest member to the family  I love this leather so much, and I have been wearing this bag every day. Hoping to keep wearing this bag everyday so that it develops that patina faster! Here is My BF baby

Love this on you! b30??

And how do you keep the side flaps so well tucked in without fastening the straps? Looks so proper!!
Thank you! Yes it is a B30  I’m not sure why the straps just stay wherever i put them. Maybe because it is new? And there is still some friction holding it in place? I imagine With some more use it will probably slide more freely
