For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

Congratulations on your purchase! Did you get this store fresh? Just curious because I myself would want this in B25 but not sure if this style is still in production. For the canvas portion I read that some who own this swear by Mr. Clean magic erasers. For the Barenia portion, be careful with water. Minor accidents here and there are okay, but if you hard press water (like I did with my B25 BF) it will be permanent but over time, it will blend in with it’s patina. Scratches would also disappear just by rubbing your finger on it.
Thank you for the advice, this is super helpful! Yes, I bought it fresh in the store in Paris. The B25 in this combination I have not seen in some years, but maybe they still have it in stock, and just not on shelves.

I have been contemplating to get a B35 for the past 2 years or so. My local store doesn't really carry B35 because the demand is pretty low so i decided to go to the preloved market through a trusted seller that i know. After so much patience, i am now happy to claim B35 in barenia fauborg leather in fauve color! It is C stamp and looks very much immaculate although i already noticed patina over its handles (regardless i love the look of it).

For reference, i'm a 5'7 guy so hopefully it doesnt look disproportionate on me! :) What do you guys think?

It’s absolutely perfect! Enjoy it, it looks great on you! I’m 5,8 and have several 35 B and love them!

My first birkin! Learning so much in the thread here- thanks so much for the wealth of information. I asked for Togo gold but received FB. In love with it so far, but mine has little dents around the bag- is this normal? From other pictures here the bags all look pretty flat but mine looks “lumpy.”

Few more questions:
2. Where can I find the C stamp, or the letter stamp in the bag?

3. I don’t think mine had plastic wrap when she brought it in- does that mean that it could be a returned Birkin? Wondering if that’s where the dents could be from.. looking “used.” There seems to be some discolouration on parts of the bag, but I hope this is normal with FB.

4. As per my post above- is the resale value of FB Birkin not as good?

What plastic wrap? You mean around the box? Both time I was offered a bag from 2 different stores, both boxes didn’t have any plastic wrap. If it’d be used it had signs like light scratches on leather 100%. BF is a soft leather and it’ll get slouchy over time. And it’ll also start darkening and getting patina(i believe due to oxidation and sun light)

Resale value mostly depends on the condition of the bag and current demand. I once out of curiosity decided to get a quote for my BF (I was not going to sell it but was curious how much reseller would offer). I was offered $14000 given that it has marks and light scratches on leather and hardware. So I’d assume reseller could sell it at least for $17000 if not more. But i personally I don’t care about resale value because I hope to keep my Hermes at least until I’m 60-70 years old.

It’s a gorgeous bag! it has unique character and to me it’s way more fascinating than Togo. I was after Togo leather also at first. But after I got BF I changed my mind. Now I’m a fan of heritage leathers like box, barenia, etc

Wow I bought in store for around 15k for my FB birkin 30. Is it really the same price online?! I’m new to Hermes and thought resale prices would be way higher.
Earlier this year, I asked my SA about the prices of BF Birkin 30 and Box Kelly 28—they were both 17,500 or 18,500 USD (I don't quite remember the exact price now). However, I remember being surprised by the price compared to the resale, given that at that point, I was looking at BF B30 for 13,500 USD in excellent condition from GinzaXiaoma.
