And here are my 2018 Fauve BF bags today.

B30 - Around 6.5 years old. Some slouching. Has a sheen. No darkening anywhere. I have scratched it so many times and rubbing will take care of it. Its very first scratch was by the key right after I bought it at my store.

And mini Roulis. Purchased August 2018. No darkening either. The strap shows a bit of aging. I dropped sugary cocktail on it. That cleaned up fine with water. And then it was soaked in the rain when I was at an outdoor museum with my friend. It has the strongest Barenia smell of any of my BF and Barenia bags, despite being one of the oldest.

Edit to add: You do have to be a bit careful with oil around BF and Barenia. I just had a little grease spot on my Barenia bag’s handle when I took it to Waffle House (yes!). It kind of blended in and faded within a week. But pickier people might be bothered by it.
Thank you for the insight! And beautiful bags btw! I was worried about handles getting darker with natural oils from your hand, creams etc. but your Birkin handles look new to me!!

Thank you all. I am also concerned about handles getting dark but I am confused maybe faibourg Barenia does not darken?
Even Togo darkens, I have a 10 year old Blue electric Togo B, quite dense color and wore it without twillies, the handles are quite dark now.
I wear my Barenia Faubourg with twillies always. I prefer the look without twillies, but I don’t like the darkened handles, as it looks kind of dirty.

Hello lovely BF owners!! Does anyone have any advice on color transfer on BF? My BF accompanied me to worked today and when it brushed up against my pant leg, it made me wonder if BF has any greater risk than, say Togo? Luckily, no transfer. But, did make me wonder....
Hi!! I noticed my mini lindy BF might have some color transfer, probably from me wearing black jeans. I thought maybe it might be the patina showing since this side of the bag is the part that touches me right leg when I wear it cross body to my right? But it looks more black than a patina showing, I have a B25 that I have used the most so I have compared the patina to that from this and it looks to me more like a color transfer.. did you ever get an answer?

Hi all! Just need some advice. Bought a Hac docs BF in Barcelona just 5 days ago and have not used it at all( kept in the box all this while) decided to take it out earlier and found these 2 spots. I’ve done some reading and not sure if this is due to it absorbing oil ( I did touch and smell it closely a couple of times when I first purchased it). No contact with water or any sorts since it’s kept in the bag and box all this while. Or is this something that will go away? I am heading to Paris in 2 days time so if this is something that can be fixed I will probably bring it down.
Any help will be much appreciated! Thank you!! 😔

You can try putting baking soda on the spots and leave it on there for a few hours until it absorbs the oil and the spots would disappear. If that doesn’t work, your best bet is to take it to the spa, or use a leather conditioner to even out the look but both ways would make your BF more darker and soften the leather faster.

This looks exactly like jeans color transfer. You can remove with a soft damp cloth.

Take it to the spa in Paris. It's your best bet since you will be there. It's probably small oil spots from your hands (water spots wouldn't remain). They should be able to clean it relatively quickly.

Thank you!! I managed to get most of it out by repetitively stroking with a damp cloth, should I keep going or leave this now as is? What do you think?

Looks good! I can't see any transfer left :) Usually I use a small dab of leather conditioner to take off denim transfer, but on BF that is likely to darken the bag, thus a super gentle soft damp cloth is best.

I wear jeans a LOT, and have too many bags in the Fauve/Gold color family, so I deal with this often. I was told it's best to get denim transfer off at the end of the day so it does not "set", and now that is just habit for me. FWIW transfer seems to happen most on crossbody bags like Mini Lindy and Evie TPM.

You could ask your local craftsperson for advice if you have one :flowers:

Got my first BF piece today…I thought I was done with Evelyne TPMs but when my SA said Barenia Faubourg Ebene I changed my answer. Also: very interesting but useless TIL - the receipt item actually says “Clemence” but it is most definitely BF.

Really enjoy reading the posts and seeing the pictures of everyone's BF goodies here! Joining the club with a BF Evelyn TPM! Sitting next to her is a halzan in gold clemence.

@QuelleFromage thanks love.

@momoc so beautiful in Ebene. Could you share reference code please?

Hello everyone. I bought this HAC 40 in Barenia Faubourg and Canvas this week, as the HSS colors this season do not really work for me unfortunately. Two questions:

1. Has anyone seen this particular combination before? I have seen Barenia Faubourg with different canvases before, but not this particular one (Toile Bivouac)
2. Does anyone have recommendations on how to best maintain this bag as this is my first Barenia Faubourg (and canvas) bag? If someone knows great inserts for HAC 40 this would also be amazing as I don't find a decent online (like 7RP or MaiTai)

Grand merci to this wonderful group and many thanks for your feedback!

Congratulations on your purchase! Did you get this store fresh? Just curious because I myself would want this in B25 but not sure if this style is still in production. For the canvas portion I read that some who own this swear by Mr. Clean magic erasers. For the Barenia portion, be careful with water. Minor accidents here and there are okay, but if you hard press water (like I did with my B25 BF) it will be permanent but over time, it will blend in with it’s patina. Scratches would also disappear just by rubbing your finger on it.
