I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

Does anyone have a picture of their well-worn barenia foubourg after years of use? I love the color but I’m afraid it’ll get too dark after a while. I really like the gold color on Togo but I love the shine on barenia foubourg, so it’s been a hard decision!

Does anyone know why some leathers stain when touched with water and why the barenia faubourg doesn’t? Does swift do that too? My watch strap should be swift leather but not sure. But it wasn’t stained after water splashed from hand washing etc either. Is it just the Hermes leathers that have this quality?

I got my BF B25 almost a year ago and only used it once. It's just been sitting in the dust bag / box. Yesterday when I took it out, I noticed that the leather color darkened to a slightly redder hue (vs the more yellow gold color), almost like the color of chestnut. Anyone notice similar? Why would the color change while it's sitting inside the box? I thought the color changes through regular use, such as sunlight, human contact, moisture, etc...

That's so interesting! Do you have a pic? I'm very interested in a BF B25 and would love to see how it ages. Many thanks in advance!

Really? I thought BF wasn't supposed to get wet, unlike the original Barenia.
BF should be as OK with water as Togo and Clemence, at least - which is pretty fine.

That's so odd. Even smooth Barenia doesn't darken all by itself - it will stay light if kept in a box.
Unrelated, please use that amazing bag!

Perhaps this is how Barenia Faubourg patinas...

Can you share a picture?

I have a few Fauve BF bags. My B30 is five years old and the B25 is 2 years old. Neither has changed much. I use them quite a bit and they are stored in their boxes otherwise. The B30 has developed a sheen. I posted a side by side comparison a couple years ago when the B25 was brand new. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/everything-barenia-faubourg.982271/page-81#post-34305448

My Mini Roulis also has not changed much for almost five years despite being smudged with a cocktail once and also completely soaked one other time.

Getting rained on is the duty of all of my BF and Barenia bags. I do make sure that they air out and dry before I put them away.

My one year old natural Barenia bag is darker than both of my BF because it simply started out redder.
