ive read this etire thread now, how exciting - like a little miniseries! ;-)
I did the exact same thing this fall as i had about 30 LV monograms sitting in my closet after 18 years of the LV-bug - at the same time i rid myself of the occational gucci and prada as well.
I sold ALL.... and got 10 new ones, a few direct from LV, a few pre-loved... And now i know every bag i have and plan to keep it that way. It had gotten so "bad" in my closet there would be times where i'd stumble upon a bag or two i forgot i even had.

Feels great to have an overview, it feels a bit "lighter" on my shoulders, too!

Can't wait to follow this journey further!

Very, very wise, MOWCAM!! This is exactly what I would like in my future. I have 3 bags in mind, and that's what I want. Those of you who have already been through this process totally inspire me.

The LV Neverfull is ecological...in that....it becomes your tote, shopping bag: no more plastic bags. LOL

I agree TG, my neverfull is probably the only bag I own that has paid for itself. I used to buy tote after tote for work and since I've owned this bag (over 2 years) it's the only one I use for work. I've tried using other bags just cuz I get bored with it, but it seems to be the only bag that can get me & DS out of the house in the morning (we both seem to require half the house before we leave) it's amazing what we put in it.

And the most important: it's light, easy on my back, and the straps are the perfect length for slipping on the shoulder.

fess up girl, which bag are you getting?? is it still the roady, or is the easy or zippy hobo... i need to know!!

Okay woman, here's the scoop...I have already been whining about this in the YSL and RM subforums, but I still need to vent so I will give you the skinny here, too:

I have fallen in absolute LOVE with the black medium YSL zippy hobo. BIG TIME. I didn't even know it existed until the day before yesterday, but once I saw it I knew that's exactly what I had in mind, even more so than the Roady.

And then I found out that it was on sale (60-70% off...so at $630, down from about $1,500) at saks and Nordie's. So of course I hit the phone last night, calling all over looking for that bag. I could find it at both stores in beige and white, but the black is all.sold.out. :crybaby:

But then today I hit the jackpot!! I found it for 30% off at a store in LA!! :D

And then I happened upon a 20% code for said store, which brought the price to 50% off...I ordered it immediately of course.

And then I got the email of doom: OUT OF STOCK. :faint:

I got on the phone again to Nordie's...still no luck. I have promised at least two SAs at different stores my left kidney if they put the bag on hold for me immediately, should someone return it.

And that's where the saga stands at the moment.

I normally don't get all that cranked up about missing out on a bag, but this one is massive love. I am hoping that somebody who bought that bag will get buyer's remorse. For reals. :push:

So....if I am able to snag the black zippy hobo, this is the updated wishlist:

YSL Medium Black Zippy Hobo
YSL Medium Red Easy Bag
LV Neverfull MM
Longchamp Bilberry or Black Medium Shopper Tote

If the Zippy Hobo's a bust, I will do a large black YSL Muse and a Red YSL Roady.

Sorry for the epic post, but I needed to rant!!!!

I am sad. :crybaby: (but should all of my "problems" be so large, lol).

I am convinced even further that I need this bag in my life. If I can't get the YSL that I want not, the Neverfull may just be my first purchase for my new collection. :D

Should I purchase online or go directly to the LV boutique? I will have to pay tax both ways, I imagine, right?

Yep, the suspense is killing us!!!

I'm guessing the zippy hobo........

Ok, my guess was legit......I was typing while you were posting. Well, I hope you can get the ysl hobo. It is divine.....and I like the idea of a red Easy.
Guess you decided against the downtown? Both are gorgeous, you can't go wrong with either and the downtown is not for everyone.

I'm thinking there are no taxes online. Of course, I bought mine at eluxury and there were no taxes and free shipping.

I have decided that I want to wait on the patent. I love the YSL patent, but am a bit nervous to start out with that...and I think I prefer it in the Easy, to be honest.

I keep on looking at the black zippy hobo and the red easy and :drool:ing. I might short-circuit my keyboard at the rate I am going.

Yeah, I think so too. I mean, I have bought from the boutique near here before & paid taxes so I will try online first.

But I miss eluxury. RIP.

ETA: I just checked and while you get free standard shipping, you do have to pay taxes online at LV. Poop. Oh well...

Good for you!!

You are inspiring me. So far I have sold enough to get one of the YSLs that I am after (and I found it on sale, no less), and then in a few weeks I can get another one. I think that you are definitely on the right track, and I hope that you can get your gorgeous Trevi soon!!

Thank you. At first it was hard....When I was taking pictures of them I would try them on and reconsider but then I thought how much better I'd look with the LV. :graucho: How exciting about your bags!I cant wait to see the pics. Although that might not be a good idea bc I might become a YSL follower. So far I have stayed away from other forums except for LV, which hasnt helped my love for bags. Isnt it the greatest feeling after you buy a bag you've been lusting for!:love:I hope I get my Trevi but it def is going to be awhile.

I regretted it. I bought a premium designer bag at full price, couldn't bring myself to use it because it was so darned expensive and then I ended up selling it for over a $500 loss. I am a mid price range designer lover. I like to buy them on sale too, so that I don't end up taking big losses and can have a nice variety of choices to carry. That's just me and my preferences. I say you should do what makes you happy. ;)

I think that I might have some good news for you all later on tonight...

And I promise to make the pics real ugly so as not to tempt you, angellina!!

I think that I would also look better with an LV, lol.

Awww...that would make me upset about a purge too, HGG!!

I think that for me in this case the trick is to find the right premium bag...meaning one that truly matches my lifestyle and everyday tastes...and that is WELL-PRICED. You can find some seriously amazing bargains out there for premium bags that end up costing about the same as a full-priced mid-level bag.

But in the end, it's all about what you say -- making yourself happy.
