I follow this method as well. Yesterday I returned a bag and wristlet to the outlet since I've had them for awhile and never cut the tags. It felt very good to get rid of a couple things and money back in the bank. I also sold another bag last night. Of course I bought another bag but at least my closet is a little emptier today! :p

absolutely agree!
i don't earn much and neither does hubby..
with this bag-obsession in the way, i just have to sell in order to keep the money rolling in to buy new ones..
i have chickened out twice in selling.. i've posted it on local forum and when somebody contacted me about it, i said it's not for sale anymore etc.. it's like the feeling of wanting to keep it grows bigger when interested buyer approaches! yeah, clingy i supposed..
but seriously, after i finally managed to let go, it's no turning back!
the feeling of getting new bags and looking forward to it is more overwhelming!
my motto is "life is too short to think over a bag.. lets just move on to the next one and try to enjoy as much as possible!!"

I think I am a midrange purchaser aswell, but one thing I have taken from your thread Loquita, is that I can get by with just 3 bags I have in my collection and if I want to I can manage to save up before I rush out and buy something rather than max the credit card to pay off later.

I can see the YSL is going to make you very happy, so definately go for it. Can't wait to see the bags you do decided to get and also the ones you decided to keep. The dream bag is within reach!!:yahoo:

Since I don't use credit cards to pay for handbags (only cash/debit card), I don't do impulse buys. Everything has to be planned. Even then, I still think that I have been a bit too caught up (at least for me) in having a lot of different colors in my handbag collection...although I have never been one to not use all of my bags. I really like to enjoy them for a good long while before proceeding on.

But I am positive that I would enjoy them even more if I only had 2-4 bags plus a wallet. :D

Now if you all only knew what I have sold so far...:graucho:..and I am still not done...I'll do a recap in a second here.

Charmed was kind enough to PM me to let me know that someone had put their NWT Black Zip Hobo up on *bay...so I contacted the seller and asked if she would let me BIN it (I offered her $850 above the opening bid, which seemed reasonable) and she kindly agreed. I didn't get it at the crazy awesome Nordie's or Saks super sale price, but it was still 50% off, which thrills me. :yahoo:

It shipped out to me this morning!!!!! Since it's coming Priority Mail from NYC, it should reach me tomorrow or Saturday. I am counting the nanoseconds with bated breath, lol.

angellina, the bag is not here just yet...I am thinking that if I am lucky it may just arrive tomorrow (I am about 2.5 hours from NYC, and that's where it's coming from) or at the latest on Saturday because of the Holiday. Still seems like too long to wait....:lawl:

Agreed!!! I do the same thing with my clothes/shoes. If I don't see myself wearing it with at least 3+ items that I already own, it doesn't leave the store with me. I truly dislike items that you only wear or use on one occasion. :yes:

I have 5 bags and find that way to many for me to cope with. I'd like to get down to 3 - maybe I should trade in a couple of Bals for a Chanel jumbo flap....this thread has got me thinking...

Loquita, woody, "triplets" add my hubby too. In fact, want to pee in your pants? Every time he comes into this room (where I'm on the computer), I immediately hide the box. To this day he does not realise I am on this forum. The other day he said to me: "You know, I notice you're spending a lot of time on the computer lately." Duh!! I can't bring myself to letting him know that I am not only bag obsessed, but I am on this terrific forum as well! :nuts: He has no idea how many bags I have. I never counted but I don't have more than five not including formal. Four to five every day bags keeps me very contented. More than that I doubt I would wear them evenly or appreciate each one individually.
