The Easy looks like a more versatile shape than the Muse does. Personally, I find myself drawn to the Muse because the shape reminds me of the LV Alma, which I love. And I agree with Antonia, the Easy is Speedy-esque!

I'd go for the medium red leather, because there's nothing nicer than the feel of soft leather under your fingers! :graucho:

You and I think alike!

I also adore the Muse...but I am leaning heavily towards the medium Easy in red patent for now because I need a sloppy New England weather bag (if you could only see how slushy and messy it is here today, for example) and red is my favorite bag color -- and currently I don't own a single red bag.

But the large Muse is definitely next on the list!

I normally don't do patents, but I am enchanted (and yes, I do mean to use a word that strong :p) by the YSL patents, and they are well priced. YSL patents are very soft and don't show smudges or fingerprints. So it seems like a great choice.

Ooh, do share...

Slightly OT, but I saw this one on Bluefly and thought of you 'cos it's red and YSL :D

Edit: Seems we posted at the same time! I didn't know that about the YSL patents. That definitely sounds more appealing! I'm not normally a fan of patent... I did fall for LV Vernis but the fingerprints drive me insane! I might have to check out some of the YSL patents myself now... :graucho:

Patent would be good for wet weather, I'd think... it'd just roll right off! :D

I'm glad you found the bag you wanted!

It's good to see other people here who are interested in maintaining a smaller number of bags. I see so many women on tPF constantly buying bags and admitting that many of them are just sitting in dustbags unused with tags still attached. That is such a waste of money.

I remember going overboard when I first got into bags in 2007. I started with Coach and got caught up in the cycle of checking the outlet for bargains and buying/returning. Luckily, I got out of that cycle after a few months when I realized that I was returning most of the stuff because I really didn't care for the styles. My first lesson - don't buy something just because it appears to be a bargain. After a brief run with LP (too casual for me), I tried BE and RM in early 2008 and found bags that were perfect for me. Since I want to use the bags I have over and over again, I certainly don't want to keep buying new bags. Less than 10 works for me!

Loquita - It's great to get to a point where you really enjoy and use all of the bags that you have. It sounds like you're one step closer to that point! :yahoo:

Hey msterling dear!!

I couldn't agree with you more.

You know, I have been hovering between 12 and 4ish bags for a while now, and using them all on a fairly regular basis, but even 12-10 bags is too much for my hyperactive brain. :lawl:

Here's where the bag plan currently stands:

1. Black YSL Zippy Hobo (on the way)
2. Red YSL Patent Medium (also called large sometimes) Easy Bag
3. LV Mono Neverfull MM (just purchased)

And at the moment, I already own:
1. Black Crash Belen Echandia Love Me Midi
2. Black Haze Rebecca Minkoff 3-Zip Rocker (but this is more of a small leather good, in my opinion; it's essentially a flat pouch on a strap, lol)

Okay, so here's the dilemma (and should all of my "problems" be like this, hahahaha!!!):

Today I went and purchased the LV Neverfull that I have been planning to buy, and then the plan was to wait and sell some more items to fund a good chunk of my final bag purchase, the YSL Red Patent Easy, which costs almost $300 more than the Neverfull.

Soo....I get home this evening from buying the Neverfull, and I see a NWT authentic (but I am still getting it checked out by the YSL folks, so no worries) Red Patent YSL Easy in exactly the size I want on *bay, for about the same price as the Neverfull. (It is a popular current season bag, so this is a nice price).

Now, to be honest, I am lusting after the Easy more than the Neverfull, and it is a better sloppy weather bag than the Neverfull, which has the untreated vachetta trim that can get problematic with water.

My question to you all: Should I return the Neverfull ASAP, and get the Easy instead? (I was considering contacting the seller and asking her if I can BIN it now, and then pay her on Friday).

My gut says yes....

Thoughts? :flowers:

PS: And I can't get both the Neverfull and the Easy bag right now. I only pay cash for my bags, so my budget only allows for two at the moment. :smile1:

LOL, I have been drooling over that bag on Bluefly too, chikapinku!! :lawl: The color is TDF.

But seriously -- check out the YSL patents. I have heard raves, and the YSL SF people seem to buy a lot of them, which I find interesting, since for other brands they don't seem to sell quite as well.

I would get the NF later. It's always going to be around whereas here's your chance to get a NWT at a discount.

PS. Your quest for the red YSL bag has got me lurking in the YSL forum as well now. Do hope you win the YSL patent.

Lo - Sadly, it's New Year's Eve and I'm home alone in decluttering mode (cleaning out my basement) and checking tPF during my breaks.

I'm waiting to hear if the seller let you do the BIN. Let's see if you can get it before the ball drops! :dothewave:

If I ever follow your lead on downsizing, I think I might get a Balenciaga Black City bag. I love how it looks on other people and I wonder if I could get away with it despite being a few years over 40. :faint: Where did the years go? I still feel like I'm 30!

msterling - awww...I think that it's great that you are decluttering!!

(And how appropriate that you would post about decluttering in this thread! :lawl:)

I personally am chilling out tonight as well because I am still bone tired after my visiting my family for Christmas...I love them to death and all but you know that there's going to be some drama afoot when I am the most even-keeled person in the room!!!

Cough, cough.

And I am waiting to see if the bag gets authenticated before I contact the seller about the BIN. :sweatdrop:

But I am not terribly worried about it because there are still 5 days left on the auction, and if it doesn't work out then it wasn't for me I guess.

As for the Black Bal City...I don't think 40 and change is too "old" for that bag AT ALL!!! :nogood:

Absolutely not...I say GO FOR IT!!! :yahoo:

The black city is as classic as it gets. Just promise me you will get one in chevre, please. (I have had a few Bals and notice a big difference not just in the leather, but in the quality of the handles, etc. since they switched to agneau leather in 08).

I'll keep you posted on my ick-bay adventure!!! :happydance:

Good luck on the YSL. I agree getting that one now because with LV, you can get them anytime and just hope there are no price increases before then. Keep us posted! Happy New Year everyone!!! :)

Lo, I would totally return the LV and get the YSL red patent bag. Last weekend, my future mother in law came to visit and had a gorgeous black patent leather bag. "WHAT IS THAT?" I gasped and she told me it was a YSL black patent muse. Never having seen a YSL IRL, I have to tell you that bag was GORGEOUS! (How funny that I totally thought of you! :hugs:) Anyhoo, the patent leather was the nicest I have ever felt and I think the red patent would be the perfect pop of color on a rainy day! Just my 2 cents...
