Which one did you get??? I've been eyeing the Frilly Bags. They're so cute and not expensive. And in pretty colors!

I got the http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41418476 black satchel bag. It's not as heavy as it looks, since the leather's not too thick (this thing could weigh 10lbs if it were), but seems sturdy and will be one of those bags that gets better as it ages.

I'm carrying it for the first time today! I love the Frilly bags, too- I'm giving this one a good tryout and have made the shop a favorite :)

Go for it! And let me know how the frilly one is- it may be next.

My bag is very shiny and new, so I'm waiting to break it in a bit (I'm not really a glossy, conditioned leather person). My (bag-loving) colleague's jaw dropped when I came in and set it on her desk- the stitching is absolutely gorgeous and even and perfect everywhere :)

*cough* ahem. it's a really icky color and that no one in their right mind would even think of wearing it!!!!! :p

Ok, now that I've said my piece... I like rouille, but if you're looking for a red, than I don't think that would be a good color, especially since you have a camel PT. I think you should try to go for a day in a red color... what about the black cherry that was released a few seasons back? I really liked that combination. Grenat is an amazing red too, I had a city in that color and I remember the leather being thick and smooth. I had a bordeaux as well, and that was really dry and veiny, so grenat was the winner between those two reds.

oh yes, would love to get my hands on a grenat city. They don't come up very often, maybe that's a good thing. I liked the black cherry too, wasn't sure about the leather. I do have a 09 black pt and I love the leather on it, so maybe I need to quit listening the the people that don't care for the agneau. you and lo are right that rouille is really icky:throwup: glad I resisted!

^^^oooh we are talking Balenciaga? I am in a Balenciaga fever and so I have negated my sales with new to me purchases of Balenciaga. Sigh. Oh well, at least they are bags I know I will use rather than not. For one, I haven't been able to stop using my 05 black city...she is so gorgeous!

I will have to restrain, however, from stalking the online sites for any more bbags until I can commit to a list of bags I will use and love. Not to mention we have travel coming in the next few months...

Good job ladies! Keep it going!

Anybody have a lot of unknown designer bags that succeeded in selling them well? I have some well-known that I'm not worried about not finding new homes for, but the ones that have obscure names are what I'm really, really worried about. I want to purge at least 6 or 7 of the bags in my collection, but I tried listing one of the obscure bags 5 times on Ebay without any bids and one watcher total!

^ what brands are you referring to? Sometimes if you'd be surprised how well a bag can do, despite it being no-name... maybe advertise more the color or material, or shape of the bag to get some attention.

maya, bbags are a serious weakness of mine. I try to stay out of the forum so my wallet won't suffer the aftermath! They're light, absolutely cool, super comfortable, come in a multitude of colors, and retain their value pretty well. What's not to like?? I have an 05 black purse, and the leather is AH-mazing.

redskater, i'm not sure about the leather difference with the black cherry... I have the anthra from that season, and it's held up super well. Maybe a few scratches here and there(i'm brutal with it), but overall, it's great. But between the two, grenat still wins hands down. Nothing can beat that color or leather!

on a side note..... Lo found me a listing.... will keep a watch on it and let you ladies know how it pans out. No telling for now, I don't want any purse ninjas to find out! If only one of my bags will sell!! only 1 wallet sold out of my 7 total listings. boo.

^^I think that is why I have come back and settled back with Balenciaga, along with Chanel. They retain their value somewhat - I guess that can read, it will sell eventually - and bbags are so light! Only one of my Chanel bags are light...a lambskin frame Sharpei that took me two years to find after I didn't buy it in NM San Diego. I still haven't seen another one!

But there is a point where too much is too much and I'm trying to not go there.

thithi, may I ask how your handles are holding up on your 05 purse? Are they soft because the leather is soft?

I think it depends if it is in a leather that stands out. I recently sold a red patent tote by an obscure Italian designer and it sold - but at a pittance for the quality. Thankfully I bought discount! However, in the end it will depend on how much you want for it and if it's urgent if it sells. I think there generally is a buyer for everything. Many things of mine I thought no one would want actually bought it on ebay.

Loulou de la Falaise, Charlie Lapson, Sharif, among a few other others that are completely no-name.

That is a good idea about advertising the other aspects of the bag. I'll try that.

You've brought something to my attention. Yeah, I've heard of weird things selling before, so why not an obscure/no-name bag? I've bought most of my bags at a steep discount, so I feel confident that I can put up a price that is relatively close to matching what I paid for them, especially considering they're completely new! I haven't worn these even once! Yikes.

NagaJolokia I have about 6 or 7 Sharifs that I just can't part with. They are the vintage ones from about 13 or 15 years ago. They hold up so well. You can't get much from them but they are beautifully made and some of the designs are timeless. He used wonderful colors and leathers. I used to work for him many years ago and he gave me most of the ones that I still have. Sometimes if you post them on bonanzle with a couple of sought after brands they will get more exposure. I've had offers on a bag that isn't that popular just because I have a MJ in the mix as well. worth a shot. It just might take time to sell.

thithi good luck with your listing, thinking anti ninja thoughts for you! I finally just sold a bag tonight that has been sitting on bonanzle for 2 1/2 months! I almost backed out of the sale thinking maybe I liked it again! but in the end I started thinking I could put the money to that grenat if one ever comes up again.

I only wear the purse once in a while, but when I first got it, I wore it for a couple months straight. The handles seem fine to me; I know that sometimes they can get "sticky" but I usually try to wear mine on my shoulder and not by hand. No fraying or any other problems from what I remember last.

I only have one Chanel, a modern chain hobo.... I find them hard for me to purchase because they're all chain handles and I know that can be painful for long term wear. I'm dreaming of a medium flap of some sort, but I wouldn't pay a lot for it because I know I won't use it often.

Bbags really are the best bags for me so far. It's hard to find any complaints with them, except for the darkening of the handles and corner wear, but that can be avoided if the bags are cared for properly.

Naga, I'm not familiar with those brands, but redskater made a good point about advertising with other brands.... Maybe also try finding a celebrity carrying the bag too. Keywords are definitely important. For example, with my love of electric blue, sometimes I search ebay for the simple term "blue handbag" hoping to find something that makes my heart patter.

redskater
, congrats on your sale!! There's hope for bonanzle yet.. I still haven't had any takers, but your sale is encouraging. I'm glad you thought about the grenat and let the sale bag go. It'll be worth it once you've got the grenat in your hands!

oh no thedseer, a NPB? that's so frustrating. have you had any contact with the buyer yet, and has there been any explanation?
