^ITA with you about that price range, thithi - much more appropriate, IMO. And I am still a bit concerned about the scratch, but I do think that the buyer was honest in her description of it.

You guys are all so fantastic - I know that you are appreciative of how tough it is to sit on your hands when a bag (or two) you have been dying for pops up!!! Your support is wonderful, and makes these kinds of decisions easier.

I really think that the right bag at the right price will pop up eventually. Until then, I am happy with what I have.

BTW - thithi, what price range are you looking for for the black chain betty? Are you thinking black patent, black regular leather, or either? I can keep my eyes peeled for you since I check the Chloe auctions regularly... :graucho:

^ Hahaha... I like both the regular leather and patent leather... patent would be a nice addition to my collection since I don't have any yet. I'm not sure what they're going for these days, but anything under $500 would be ideal. If you see one, definitely let me know! :flowers:

thithi I've been eyeing the rouille city. but it's kind of close to my camel pt and since these bags are so pricey, I really need to think my purchases through. I think what I really need is some kind of red, either grenat, or one of the newer colors. There are some great reds that bal has put out in the last year. I also would like one more day but with GH. I think it's the only style that appeals to me with the GH. Haven't decided on a color for that yet. But those are the two missing links in my bal collection, I'm trying to be patient, plus my other bags aren't moving and I just hate to move them over to ebay right now. I was hoping to not buy anything until xmas. I feel like I haven't bought anything in so long, yet it's only been since last xmas. how bad is that!

I've been keeping my eye out for you on the outremer. i know it will turn up somewhere.

redskater, I have to say that Rouille is my FAVE bal color...I have owned a Day and a First in that color. Selling that Day (I still don't know why I did it, it was an idiotic impulse) is perhaps my lone true sale regret to date. :crybaby:

I agree with you that Rouille is not a "true" red, so perhaps it's not what you are looking for. I am always puzzled when people refer to rouille as a red...I def. think of it as an orange. I think it's fantastic that you are thinking this potential purchase through so carefully! Good for you.

I love all the thoughtfulness going on here before buying! Now whenever I see some pretty, shiny bag and get that urge--I come straught to this thread. I am not saying that I will never buy anything again but this is a great place to paise and take a breath!

This makes me so happy, Kimmi! :yahoo:

I have to admit that this thread is a huge help for me, too - and the fact that no one judges me here for my crazy last-minute bag urges is a major bonus as well. I can always come here to talk myself (or be talked down) off of the ledge, lol...

no, no ,no, you are supposed to tell me that it's a really icky color and that no one in their right mind would even think of wearing it!!!!! lol! I wish someone would just buy that damn bag and put me out of my misery!

Yay, so glad there are other Etsy fans! 2 of the Etsy shops I've discovered are The Leather Store, Paulina Carcach, and Frei Fashions. It's such a fun place to browse! I would love to see Megs review some Etsy finds. I think it's always a good thing to bring attention to talented artisans.

I've been lurking in the thread off and on, and ended up in The Leather Store's page...showed it to DH, and he got me one of their bags for our anniversary. I LOVE it- the stitching is perfect, the design is lovely, and it's really at the same level of workmanship or better than most of the mid-range bags I've checked out/owned. The price was really, really good, AND it came from someone who made it themselves.

Thanks for the links! I tried to take pics, but apparently my version of Photoshop is too old for Windows 7...I'll have to find an alternative before I can post any.

Thanks for the review, seresy! I am happy to heat such great things about Etsy - but not surprised. I have a friend who is looking for a bag and wants something well-priced yet special so I will refer her...(and try not to look for myself, lol). :D

I am so sorry, redskater - I was lying when I said that rouille was my fave Bal color...it's actually HIDEOUS!!! I mean, looking at it makes my corneas bleed!!!

Which one did you get??? I've been eyeing the Frilly Bags. They're so cute and not expensive. And in pretty colors!

*cough* ahem. it's a really icky color and that no one in their right mind would even think of wearing it!!!!! :p

Ok, now that I've said my piece... I like rouille, but if you're looking for a red, than I don't think that would be a good color, especially since you have a camel PT. I think you should try to go for a day in a red color... what about the black cherry that was released a few seasons back? I really liked that combination. Grenat is an amazing red too, I had a city in that color and I remember the leather being thick and smooth. I had a bordeaux as well, and that was really dry and veiny, so grenat was the winner between those two reds.
