Thank YOU!!! The fact that you and everyone else in this thread have been si supportive of one another and open-minded about this process has made this so much easier for me, too!! And I appreciate your compliment about my YSL - I am thrilled with that bag!! :yahoo: I took it out to meet some friends today and my girlfriend was floored by it - she made me promise not to sell it, and assured me that it was worth every penny that I paid for the bag.

So...when can we see your new collection??? :graucho: It sounds fantastic, I am so happy for you!!! :hugs:

Hi LO. Thanks for asking about my collection. I didn't take the best pics, but there is a link to it at the bottom of my signsture if interested. I love love my Fendi. It is patent leather. It retailed for 1500 but I bought it for 300 from a private seller (I did have the authenticity checked and I am good). I wish I could get better pics because I love it. I also do not know how to make the pics large. Keep us posted if when you add more, but I think your collection is great the way it is. I am happier as I said with my smaller collection.

great job redskater!! I probably need to do a good kitchen cleanout as well.... you can totally purge some bags from what I remember... maybe start with two?

I listed four today, and sold two last week. My closet is so grateful!

I don't know why this is so hard for me, but I did take pics of 4 yesterday and now I just need that push to list them. I loved cleaning out the kitchen, I hate having to rummage around to find anything. Between DH and I, we have 3 sets of formal china, and 3 sets of everyday wear, who needs that much china????? I'm going to have a huge garage sale this spring! Ok, no more procrastinating, off to list a few!

Yay, redskater!!! You go!!! :yahoo:

But please don't beat yourself up if you take a bit longer to post your bags - everyone has their own personal comfort level/speed with selling. :smile1:

I personally am really truly torn about my next bag - I am in between the following, and would truly appreciate your opinions. Please remember that my only other bag at this point is a very simple black YSL hobo. Help!!! Here are the candidates:

Mulberry Alexa in Oak Leopard (this is the over-sized version; I want the same bag in a slightly smaller size):

Mulberry Bayswater in Black:

(FYI: the hardware on this bag looks silver in this pic, but it's actually brass (my fave). ;)

as far as your bag choices go, I really like the look of the Alexa because for me personally I like the versatility of being able to either hand carry or use the shoulder strap. I have found this style to be one of my favorites for those reasons. I really love the look of the leather on the bayswater and the simplicity of it. What I am not sure about is the strap length. I had that same type strap on a blake I owned and it made it very heavy to carry and a bit hard on my shoulders. Have you tried this on irl yet? Which bag is lightest? does that matter to you? If not, I think the Alexa would be my first choice. I am not a LV fan, just personal preference, so that would be my last choice. I do hear a lot of great comments about the neverful, but I think the other two have more style. Can't wait to see what you decide on.
I'm so glad you are enjoying your Hobo!

I listed one bag today, one small step in the right direction!

Thanks for your advice, redskater!! And I am very much inclined to agree with you - I like the look of the LV and it is light as a feather and very useful, but it doesn't pull at my heartstrings like the Alexa does. I am not entirely convinced that I can pull of the mono print, tbh. The leather on the Alexa is very light and pliable, and I love the various carrying options - that is key for me. I also know that I can get the strap adjusted if I need to...and I am in MASSIVE love with the leopard print - for me that is a classic and I get a lot of use out of my leopard print items (I like wearing just one with an outfit that is otherwise very simple, for example). I have been thinking over this bag literally for months.

Thanks again and CONGRATS on listing your bag!!! :yahoo:

I still have two on the chopping block and just one more after that - I will list it shortly.

And the hobo = major

Loquita...I would go for the ALexa... The bays is too plain and you already have a plain black bag... just kidding... it would overlap with the hobo imho.
The neverfull looks like a very practical bag. Personally, i would choose damier over monogram. It is more stylish and a bit less common than the later.
Have you considered the LV Bloomsbury? It is a lovely messenger style...
Keep us posted...

It sounds like from what you say the Alexa is the bag for you. What I like about it is that when one is in briefcase mode the Alexa can go there. Very classy and so many carrying options too.

I love the Bayswater but it looks so plain in comparison to the Alexa. And the price difference is not that much. So the Alexa gets my vote.

At the risk of joining a crowd - get the Alexa!

It's superior to the Bayswater because it has the variety of carry options, and is fun pattern instead of the exact same colour as your YSL.
As wonderful as the black and brass mix is - how much of it do you need? Will you get tired of it if over half of your bag collection is black and brass?
And I don't have much patience with monograms. Some people carry them off, but I know i'm not one of them. I'd rather see you with a damier or epi Neverfull. I know, not as light - but still pretty and durable. Just something to think about.

Oh, and I haven't (yet) sold a bag - but I've started listing sunglasses. It's a step in the right direction... right?
Thank you for inspiring a re-examination.

I love the alexa. I like having to choices on how to carry my bags. The LV neverfull is a drastic change which can be good or bad, but you seem to like the all leather bags. And as you said the NF does not pull at your heart strings. Keep us posted. I am done shopping for now, but it is so hard to not buy something. I did however buy some shoes... I got Chanel, Burberry and Gucci shoes this week. Now I AM FOR SURE DONE!

It sounds like you may be leaning towards the Alexa, so I’d say go for that if you can hold out on the whole waiting list thing…though the price for the black Bays is pretty great! I do like the size of the Alexa – it’s smaller than I expected (I was expecting huge) – and I think the color and style would be a nice addition and add some more versatility to your collection. Plus the crossbody option is convenient, and I believe you are a fan of crossbodies ;)

My choice out of those three would be the Neverfull. I agree that the Bays is too close to the YSL you just received. However it sounds like your heart is set on the Alexa. BUT I'm still going to make a case for the Neverfull. I used to be anti-mono, until I saw a pic of Audrey Hepburn with her Speedy and I fell in love with it. The Speedy is a hard shape for me, so I bought a Totally when they came out last year and it's the most used bag in my closet. It goes with everything, looks great casual and for work and it's such a practical easy to carry bag. I do however prefer the Neverfull shape, but I needed the zipper.Sorry if I'm adding to your confusion.:graucho:
