Sorry, I totally missed this!
I bought the PttM Natasha in Grape Juice. My first MbyMJ ever. I want to make it my last though because I really should NOT be buying any more bags. Not unless I can miraculously let go of many other bags....

And go purging power! Great job, ladies.
I know that when I buy purses i don't really love, it is often the result of a sale/good deal. I have a love/hate relationship with good prices.

Congrats - I  MbMJ's grape juice color, it's beautiful! And the Pttm Natasha is one of my favorite designs by him in a long time (right up there with the Core Faridah, which I adore). The size and shape of the bag are just perfect.

You & thithi are clearly women of good taste. ;)

Honestly, my closet looks better - NEATER - with just a few, classic ones that I KNOW I'll use. I'm trying to purge my collection still some more for a Givenchy or a Chanel... wondering which one. One's $1495 and the other is around $1700.

I love that neatness you are referring to here...I always feel like if my closet/desk/home is cluttered, then my brain is cluttered. I am a writer and I literally can't work if I have papers and stuff all strewn about. It makes me nervous.

And I can't wait to hear which bag you pick!!! They both sound like classic choices.

I agree with the neater closet & more space.
I used to own 30+ bags of mid-designer brands I grew out of very easily but after I sold them all off, I now just have a few bags I love. It just makes dressing much easier! Now if I can only have done this with clothes. But selling off used clothing is impossible unless they're premier designer, so I just donate to the salvation army or dress for success for the older suits I can no longer wear or tailor.

Lo, that's exactly it. I don't like a cluttered closet. And I like to know that If I can't enjoy these bags someone else out there will. I've found on my handbag journey what I might not like someone else will absolutely love to pieces.

So it's a win win for me to let go of handbags that haven't been worn. I gain a neat closet space and someone else gains a new treasure!:smile1:

wow, that's an achievement! good job on doing that.... that's totally my goal this year.

i cleaned out my closet and drawers in December, and most of it got donated to Goodwill. There was only a few things I was able to sell, and even then I barely got back what I paid.

I checked out your bag showcase. I love your YSL. I just got 2 of my bags today. I hope the 3rd will be here today. That whole purge was a fun yet stressful experience. It was stressed because I didnt want to sell anything for less than what I paid. And I never know with *bay sometimes. Then I was going to get the galliera but I was worried about the rings oxidizing and turning the vachetta black. This was the first time I did not rush to judgement when purchasing my bags. And for once I am happy with everything in my collection. Thanks LO

I know EXACTLY what you mean...it has been like that for me forever. I liken it to eating lots of potato chips and still feeling hungry, as opposed to just sitting down and eating a square, nutritious meal, stopping when you're satisfied, and that's that.

(Not that I wish to imply that mid-range bags are inferior in any way...I love many of them, in fact. I just want to encourage others (and myself as well) to be more thoughtful about our collections and wait for the items that we will truly use and enjoy - whether they cost $5 or $5,000).

And I LOVE the fact that you are not missing anything, and that it's giving you a greater sense of control!! I feel the exact same way!! Every bag that goes out the door brings me a greater sense of relief and peace.

You rock, lovebags.

I am so happy for you.

Lo, I just read this post. Aw, I think your pretty amazing myself! I love what your trying to do for the ladies here by creating this resource thread.:smile1:

I love the PF for a resource and I think it's a powerful combination with your thread. You're helping women achieve more a sense of balance and reflection before making a handbag purchase. And then the PF is here to take it from there!

You said it absolutely perfect with your analogy. And I totally agree with you regarding price. I just happened to have found my line that makes me happy. And I"d rather just own 2 or 3 bags in total if you can believe that from this designer then over a dozen misc... bags.

I've come full circle in my thinking over the course of my handbag journey. There was a time that I felt owning bags in multiple colors, shapes and sizes was where it was at. Not anymore LO. Now I"m craving that peace, relief and control we talked about.

You really do know where I am now! And I"m delighted to share it with you. xoxo

Thank YOU!!! The fact that you and everyone else in this thread have been si supportive of one another and open-minded about this process has made this so much easier for me, too!! And I appreciate your compliment about my YSL - I am thrilled with that bag!! :yahoo: I took it out to meet some friends today and my girlfriend was floored by it - she made me promise not to sell it, and assured me that it was worth every penny that I paid for the bag.

So...when can we see your new collection??? :graucho: It sounds fantastic, I am so happy for you!!! :hugs:

This post made my night!!!

I love how you put this! I agree, I HATE clutter, it makes ME feel dirty, lol. How did you sell your bags to finance your classics/everyday-forever/ bags? I had some unexpected event happen that wiped out the funds for my to-be new classic bag. :( :(

so Lo, what's next on the list?:whistle:

I'm living vicariously through you. I'm taking pics today of the stuff I need to go to new homes. I have however done a major overhaul on the closets and kitchen. I now know what I have! It's not as easy for me to purge the purses for some reason.
