Ever purged your collection in pursuit of one bag? How did it go?

And thanks for your compliments on my new lovelies, everyone! I am sooo happy with every single one of the bags...these choices are every bit as good as the YSL and Chloe bags that I purchased earlier this year, which is a fantastic sign.

Yep. These are keepers! :yahoo:

glad to hear you say this! I find I use my bals more and more just cause they are so much lighter than anything else. which means more purging in my future.;)

To stiffen my resolve, I unpacked my bags in front of DH (!) and explained what I was going to do. Who knew that he actually noticed my bags and had his own favourites??? Anyway, he agrees on the "chop list" and was much more interested and supportive than I would ever have imagined. No excuses now.

Wow! You really threw down the gauntlet. Good for you! Keep us posted!"

A quick funny story-- Last night my DH had just picked up his large guitar amp from being repaired and had been paying all night. He smiled and said, "I guess it's like finding the right handbag. You just know when it works."

TJ - yep! I know that although I can be ruthless, sometimes I succumb to sentimental feelings about a bag so I needed that extra push. And actually, as I talked each bag through with DH (why I like it, when I carry it, what the difference between matte, pebbled, sheen etc leather is), I began to think of a few others that could be sold to fund something new or to pay towards my university course (I'm starting to study part time).

Sounds like you are well on your way!!!

And I'm like you - I used to assume that my SO didn't notice my bags.

Well, I was WRONG. He has a very clear idea of who many and which styles I own. (This is both good and bad, I figure).

I am actually at the point where I have nothing left to purge!!!

(And definitely nothing that I want to purge).

This is a rare feeling for me. I am savoring it.

I do have one BE bag on a consignment website, though, but I have a feeling that it will take a while to sell since it is a less familiar brand...

Have been following this thread for a while and am happy that you reached your goal! :yahoo: You are one brave girl, I do not think I could do what you did.

By the way, LOVE the new avatar :D Definitely worth it.

Great to see you catching up on this thread Loquita! Sorry work has been loads of work lately...but at least you have some fantastic bags to keep you company!

I will say I have gotten rid of many bags...and a few more may go...but I am enjoying the ones I have and loving them...so the process has made me USE the bags more...and I look forward to a summer of breaking some of these bags in!

It is definitely a lot more fun to enjoy your bags this way. :D

And thanks so much for your kind words about my work stress - I am just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...if I can get through this week I should be doing much better. :sweatdrop:

It's times like these when I am most grateful for my SO and super Mico, the wonder Bichon.
