Ever purged your collection in pursuit of one bag? How did it go?

I keep thinking I'm done editing my collection..its getting really small.....but after everything..I think I've decide which colors I want to keep/will use all the time.
Black, brown, wine/red and grey. I have a teal color bag while gorgeous..I think I might have to let go. I will probably go after a more muted blue/green color in the future but I never use it so maybe that's a sign.
Next will be to purchase a City in anthra since I've let go of another grey...

I am really happy that you feel like you can post here and not feel judged - like the others, I don't think that you are being silly at all by being upset about this, much less so for admitting it.

Sure, in the grand scheme of things it may be trivial matter, but that doesn't mean that having your plans to treat yourself put off hurts any less...we all need to take care of and pamper ourselves sometimes, and financial stress is always scary. I have been in your exact situation myself and I definitely sympathize. :hugs:

Please let us know if we can help you brainstorm creative solutions, ok? That's part of what we are here for! ;)

Hey Lo, thankyou so much for your kind words and understanding, it means a lot :D

I will keep you all updated on progress and will continue to check this fantastic and inspirational thread over the next few days,

Have a great weekend all xoxo

just dropping in to say hello to everyone! hope the sales are going well...

i haven't been buying or selling very much... waiting for some stuff on the bonz but that's it. i know the dept store sales are right around the corner so i wish i could move some stuff!

Loquita, your bags are amazing. I've been following this thread intermittently for a while but as I never had that many bags, I didn't feel the need to purge. I do so ruthessly with my clothes and shoes though, so I knew that at somepoint, if my bag collection grew big enough, I would do so. I now have around 16 bags and that really is the most I would want to have, I'd be more comfortable with 10 max.

This is what is on the potential chopping block right now:

Ignes Emilia - a lovely bag in cognac leather but it is just too big for me and I reach for my HH Havana if I want a casual brown bag.

Treesje Dylan Black with gold hardware - again a lovely bag but that I got at a fantastic price but I don't like the gold hardware. I've also realised that I actually don't really wear that much black! I used to live in it but now I'm more inclined to wear grey or shades of blue.

Belen Echandia Love Me Midi in Dark Grey Matte - I like the style but the midi is a better fit for me and I now have one of those so this one could go. Also, I have something else coming my way in Grey Matte and I don't want to duplicate colours.

I'll definitely try out bonz as I've bought most of my bags there and so far have had no problems.

Eeeeeek....but the fact that none of the very few bags that I would possibly buy at this point will likely go on sale saddens me.

But honestly, the world will keep spinning on its axis. :p

Hey VanBod!! Great to see you here!! :smile1:

Your plan of attack sounds very reasonable, and thoughtfully conceived. I say go for it - and please keep us posted!! And yes, the Bonz is the way to go - just be aware that sales are generally slower there, but almost always much more pleasant and profitable.

And thanks for your compliments on my new lovelies, everyone! I am sooo happy with every single one of the bags...these choices are every bit as good as the YSL and Chloe bags that I purchased earlier this year, which is a fantastic sign.

Yep. These are keepers! :yahoo:
