Engagement Rings- What does yours look like?

I love everyone's rings!! I've been looking on here for a while now and I guess it's my time to share. I am newly engaged! My now fiance popped the question on Christmas day in Carmel Ca on the beach. It wasn't a total surprise since I helped pick out the ring, but nonetheless it was still very special.

It's a custom 2.2 carat ideal cut F color with tiny micro pave diamonds on the side. It has a halo, but IRL can't really see the halo a lot because the diamond sits on top of the halo so it just adds a little more sparkle to the diamond.

Beautiful!!! That was the exact same setting I was looking for (while I was interested in white diamonds). It looks like a round brilliant in a cushion halo design? It's breathtaking. It reminds me a lot of HW, but it's also very unique!!! Congratulations on your new engagement

Thank you ladies!! The setting was custom. I live in Sacramento and we do not have a lot of options for jewelry. It's made by Tacori. I didn't care for any of their settings, just a little too victorian for my taste. I basically told them what I wanted and they made it for me. They gave me a wax build up, which I managed to break in about 10 seconds of holding it. It actually turned out better than I expected. I'm really pleased. But more pleased about my man. This thread also gave me a lot of inspiration. Everyone has such beautiful rings.

Yes, the diamond is round. I guess the rule is you're not supposed to halo a round diamond, but I prefer the look of a square diamond and like the sparkle of a round. The halo gives it the appearance of a square diamond. I forgot to include earlier but the diamonds are all VS1.

Would love to see photos of your setting. Have you posted it before?

So true. I always thought I would want a huge diamond, but really I didn't care what I got. I would have been happy with a plain band. I'm just happy to be with my guy.

I can finally post on this thread! My BF (of 10 years!) proposed on Christmas Eve. He'd been throwing hints around so I wasn't completely surprised, but I wasn't sure when it would happen. He replaced this ring in the box where my promise ring had been and when I went to open the box to put my promise ring on my finger, I saw the e-ring and he was there to ask me to marry him.

I love my ring ... it's just perfect for me. Just right in size for my finger, princess cut ... love it!

These are the specs from the GIA report:

Carat: .62
Colour Grade: E
Clarity Grade: VVS1
Fluorescence: None
Polish/Symmetry: Excellent
Band: 18k White Gold

For the wedding band, I'd like a thin band with pave set (or is it called Channel set?) diamonds around it. I think it would go very nicely with the e-ring.

And now for the photos! BTW ... ring is a size 7, although I nearly think I should have it resized slightly smaller. Because the band is quite thick and heavy, it seems to slide around a bit more than I'm comfortable with.

^^ Gorgeous and cute story! I think a pave or channel band (they're different) would look great with your ering.
